(Prior Art) In the selective call method, generally, one frame is time-divided into a plurality of groups (m groups in the figure) as shown in FIGS. 4 (a) to 4 (d), and these groups are further synchronized with each other. And a plurality of paging words (n words in the figure), respectively, and the paging signal of the paging receiver held by the subscriber is inserted into these paging words and transmitted from the base station. Then, this selective calling signal is received by the selective calling receiver, and the individual number code is compared and collated with the individual number code unique to the receiver stored in advance, and when both codes match, a ringing tone is generated. It is designed to notify subscribers.
Incidentally, FIG. 4 (d) shows the structure of the individual number code.

By the way, the receiver to which this kind of selective calling method is applied,
Battery saving is generally performed to extend the life of the battery. The battery saving is to intermittently supply power to a circuit having a relatively large current consumption, such as a receiving circuit section. Conventionally, for example, from a group designation signal inserted in a synchronization word for each selective calling receiver, Detects the transmission period of the group to which it belongs,
Power is supplied to the receiving circuit section only during this reception period, and power supply is stopped during other periods. Fig. 5 (a),
(B) shows the battery saving operation of the selective call receiver belonging to group i. It should be noted that the power supply start timing is actually 5th in consideration of the rising delay of the receiving circuit section.
As shown in FIG. 7B, the timing is set slightly earlier than the reception start timing of the group. By performing such battery saving, for example, the power supply time to the receiving circuit unit becomes 1 / m of the number of groups, and as a result, the life of the battery can be greatly extended.

However, such a conventional battery saving method has the following problems. That is, in recent years, as a new selective call system, a selective call signal is composed of an individual number code and a message code, and this selective call signal is inserted into a call word and transmitted, and the selective call receiver receives the individual number code. There has been proposed a method in which a ringing tone is generated and a message code is decoded and displayed on a display device when both codes match each other by comparing and collating with the individual number code. In this type of system, the code length of the message code is relatively long because the coded information of the caller's telephone number or name is generally inserted as the message code. Therefore, if the conventional battery saving method is applied to a receiver to which such a selective calling method is applied, even if a code mismatch occurs as a result of collating the individual number codes, the power is supplied as it is during the reception period of the subsequent message code. Therefore, the wasted current is consumed during that time, and the battery life cannot be expected to be extended.

Even if the selective calling method in which only the individual number code is transmitted without adding the message code, for example, when the collating method of the individual number codes is a type in which the comparison is performed bit by bit, for example, the first 1 At the time of comparing bits or 2 bits, it may already be determined that it is different from the individual number code of the own device. In such a case, the subsequent reception and comparison operation of the individual number code is unnecessary. However, in the conventional battery saving method, without paying attention to such a point, since the receiving operation is continuously performed during the receiving period of the group to which the own device belongs, power consumption is still large.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) As described above, the conventional battery saving method still has a problem that it is difficult to extend the battery life because much power is wasted. Focusing attention, the present invention intends to provide a battery saving system which can further reduce unnecessary power supply and thereby reduce unnecessary current consumption and extend battery life.

[Structure of the Invention] (Means for Solving Problems) The present invention stops power supply to a predetermined circuit when a code error more than a predetermined value is detected at the time of collating individual number codes, and stops this power supply. The state is maintained until a timing earlier than the reception start timing of the calling word to be received next by the own machine by a predetermined time in consideration of the rise delay of the predetermined circuit, and both codes are matched by collating the individual number codes. In this case, the power supply to the predetermined circuit is stopped at the time when the reception period of the calling word in which the coincidence of this code is detected ends, and this power supply stop state is set to the next reception period of the group to which the own device belongs. It is designed to be held until it arrives.

(Operation) As a result, when the message code is inserted in the selective calling signal, the power supply to the predetermined circuit is stopped at the time when it is determined as a result of the collation that any of the individual number code collation methods does not match. It Therefore, the reception verification operation is not performed during the reception period of the message code, and the battery life is extended accordingly.

Even if the message code is not inserted in the selective call signal, if the collation method is a method of collating the individual number codes one bit at a time, the power supply is stopped when the individual number codes are determined not to match. Therefore, the receiving operation can be performed only during a necessary period of the receiving period of each paging word, thereby extending the battery life.

Further, in any of the above-mentioned methods, the power supply to the predetermined circuit is stopped earlier than the reception start timing of the calling word to be received next by the self-device by a predetermined time in consideration of the rise delay of the predetermined circuit. Since the period is set up to the timing, the receiving operation of the next call word is not adversely affected, and the power supply stop state can be set as long as possible. That is, the battery saving effect can be maximized while maintaining the operation reliability of the receiver sufficiently high.

Moreover, in the present invention, when a call to the own machine is detected by an arbitrary call word, power supply to a predetermined circuit is stopped during the reception period of the subsequent call words in the same group. Therefore, in the system of the present invention in which the selective call signal is inserted into only one call word in the group, a predetermined circuit is deactivated during the reception period of the subsequent call word in which there is no need for code matching. The battery is held in the state, and the useless power consumption is reduced correspondingly, and the life of the battery is extended.

(Embodiment) FIG. 1 shows the configuration of a selective call receiver to which a battery saving system according to an embodiment of the present invention is applied. This receiver is of a type for calling by inserting a message code into the selective calling signal. The selective calling signal is received by the wireless circuit 2 via the antenna 1, demodulated by the demodulating circuit 3 and then introduced into the matching circuit 4. . Then, the collation circuit 4 reproduces the individual number code by, for example, the BCH error correction method and compares and collates with the individual number code of its own machine stored in the memory 5, and when both the codes coincide with each other, it is passed through the amplifier 6. A calling signal is supplied to the speaker 7 to generate a predetermined calling sound. At the same time, the message code following the individual number code is decoded and output to the drive circuit 8, whereby a message such as the telephone number or name of the calling party is displayed on the display unit 9.

By the way, the receiver of the present embodiment is a battery saving circuit.
Equipped with 10. The battery saving circuit 10 has a first power supply control means 11 and a second power supply control means 12. First, the first power feeding control means 11 detects in advance the reception period of the group to which the device itself belongs from the group designation signal of the synchronization word inserted in each group, and from this reception start timing each time the reception period arrives. Power supply to the wireless circuit 2 and the demodulation circuit 3 is started earlier by a fixed time. The second power feeding control means 12 receives the notification that the individual number codes do not match from the matching circuit 4 during reception of each call word of the group to which the second power feeding control means 12 belongs, and the wireless circuit 2 and the demodulation circuit 3 are received. The power supply to the device is stopped, and this power supply stopped state is held until a timing earlier than the reception start timing of the next call word by a predetermined time.

With such a configuration, for example, in the case of the selective call receiver belonging to the group 3, when the reception period of the group 3 approaches, the rise delays of the radio circuit 2 and the demodulation circuit 3 are taken into consideration in FIG. As shown in a) and (b), the power saving control signal is output from the battery saving circuit 10 at a timing earlier than the reception start timing of the group 3 by a certain time, and the power feeding to the wireless circuit 2 and the demodulation circuit 3 is started. Then, the selective call receiver enters the receiving operation state. The selective call receiver then receives first the incoming sync word of group 3 and the subsequent call word 1.

Now, during reception of the call word 1, the collation circuit 4 determines that the individual number code does not match the individual number code of the own machine,
When this is notified to the battery saving circuit 10, the battery saving circuit 10 determines that it is not necessary to receive the subsequent message code, and at this point the power supply control signal is turned off as shown in FIG. 2 (b). To do. Then, this off state is held until a timing earlier than the reception start timing of the next call word 2 by a fixed time. As a result, no power is supplied to the wireless circuit 2 and the demodulation circuit 3 during the message code reception period of the call word 1. Similarly, each time the subsequent call words inform the collating circuit 4 that the individual number codes do not match, the power supply to the wireless circuit 2 and the demodulating circuit 3 is stopped during the reception period of the message code. Therefore, the current consumption of the battery is correspondingly reduced, which can prolong the battery life.

On the other hand, for example, when the matching circuit 4 detects the coincidence of the individual number codes at the time of receiving the calling word n, and the battery saving circuit 10 is informed of that, the battery saving circuit 10 determines that it is a call to itself. Then, as shown in FIG. 2B, the power supply to the radio circuit 2 and the demodulation circuit 3 is continued.
As a result, the radio circuit 2 and the demodulation circuit 3 receive the message code of the calling word n, and the message code is decoded by the matching circuit 4 and displayed on the display 9. still,
When the reception of the last call word n of the group 3 is completed, the battery saving circuit 10 turns off the power supply control signal, so that the power supply is stopped until the next group 3 reception period comes.

As described above, according to the present embodiment, the power supply to the wireless circuit 2 and the demodulation circuit 3 is stopped by the call word that does not require reception not only in the reception period other than the group to which the own device belongs but also in the group to which the own device belongs. As a result, the waste of current consumption can be reduced as much as possible, thereby further extending the life of the battery. Generally, the length of the message code is much longer than that of the individual number code, and stopping the power supply to the wireless circuit 2 and the demodulation circuit 3 during the reception period of this message code is extremely effective in extending the life of the battery. Is.

The present invention is not limited to the above embodiment. For example, in the above embodiment, the system in which the message code is inserted into the selective calling signal has been described as an example. , It is judged that the call is not to the own machine at the time when the number of mismatched bits reaches a certain number during the collation of the individual number code, and the wireless circuit 2 and the demodulation circuit 3 are shown as shown in FIGS.
Alternatively, the power supply to the power supply may be stopped. Further, in the case of the calling method in which the selective calling signal is inserted into only one calling word in the group, if a calling to the own machine is detected by an arbitrary calling word, the selective calling signal is used in the subsequent calling words in the same group. Since it is not necessary to receive the call, the radio circuit 2 and the demodulation circuit 3 are sent to the radio circuit 2 and the demodulation circuit 3 at the end of the reception period of the call word in which the call to the own machine is detected as shown in FIGS. 3 (a) and 3 (b). The power supply may be stopped and the stopped state may be held until the next reception period of the group to which the own device belongs. In addition, the configuration of the power supply control means, the power supply start timing and the power supply stop timing, the type of the circuit for stopping the power supply, and the like can be variously modified and implemented without departing from the scope of the present invention.

[Effects of the Invention] As described in detail above, according to the present invention, power supply to a predetermined circuit is stopped at the time when a code error of a predetermined value or more is detected at the time of collating individual number codes, and the power supply is stopped. In the case where the own device holds the timing until the reception start timing of the calling word to be received next by a certain time in consideration of the rise delay of the predetermined circuit, and when the above two codes match by the collation of the individual number codes, Stops the power supply to the predetermined circuit at the time when the reception period of the call word in which the coincidence of the code is detected ends, and the power supply stop state is reached by the next reception period of the group to which the own device belongs. I'm trying to hold up. Therefore, it is possible to provide a battery saving system in which unnecessary power supply is further reduced, thereby reducing unnecessary current consumption and extending battery life.

1. A frame is time-divided into a plurality of groups, and each of these groups is time-divided into a plurality of paging words. When a desired receiver is called, one of the groups to which the receiver belongs. A selective call signal including at least the individual number code of the receiver is inserted in the call word and transmitted from the base station. The selective call signal is received by the receiver and the individual number code is stored in advance. In the receiver to which the selective calling method that performs a predetermined calling display when both codes are compared and collated with each other is applied, in the reception period of the group to which the own device belongs among the plurality of groups, the individual number When a code error more than a predetermined value is detected during code verification, the power supply to the predetermined circuit is stopped, and the power supply stop state of the call word to be received next by the device itself. When the code is held until a timing that is earlier than the reception start timing by a certain time in consideration of the rise delay of the predetermined circuit, and the two codes match by collating the individual number codes, the call in which the matching of these codes is detected Power supply to the predetermined circuit is stopped at the end of the word reception period, and power supply control means for holding this power supply stop state until the next reception period of the group to which the device belongs is provided. Characteristic battery saving method.
