Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a automatic warehouse which improves the storage efficiency much more and facilitates warehousing and delivery of standardized loads such as barrels. CONSTITUTION:The automatic warehouse is provided with a supporting shelf 6 having plural square opening parts 8 through which a load such as a barrel 1 placed on a square pallet 2 can be passed vertically, and a laterally traveling carriage 7 which is located below the supporting shelf 6 and capable of traveling in the direction perpendicular to the direction in which the opening parts 8 are arranged. Besides, a carrier 3 which is capable of traveling in the direction in which the opening parts 8 are arranged, and which is provided with a lifter 4 on its upper part and a rotary table 5 on the lifter further, is installed on the laterally traveling carriage 7. Thus, warehousing and delivery are performed by moving the carriage 3 to any position, lifting and lowering the lifter, and rotating the rotary table in the normal and reverse directions.
