Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten the interruption time period of incineration operation of solid refuse to increase the efficiency of incineration operation, efficiently perform after-burning and prevent unburnt and incomplete-combustion matters from sticking and piling on a movable bottom cover which forms the hearth of an incineration space. CONSTITUTION:An after-burning chamber 10 is provided under an incinerator main body 2 and an ash collecting chamber 15 is located under the after- combustion chamber 10. First, the bottom of an incineration space 2b is closed by a movable bottom cover 8A to form a hearth, and mixed solid refuse 6 is fed by a feeder 1 to burn the solid refuse to burned matters 5. Next, the movable bottom cover 8A is moved inside the after-burning chamber 10 and the incineration space 2b is closed by the other movable bottom cover 8B to perform incineration operation. Hot air is supplied into the after-burning chamber 10 as shown by an arrow D to further burn unburnt and incomplete- combustion matters contained in the burnt matter 5 and also to burn sticking matters 5a on the surface 13 of the movable bottom cover 8A to ash.

2. Description of the Related Art In nuclear power plants and the like, a large amount of radioactive miscellaneous solid waste containing a large amount of ash, such as vinyl chloride sheet, gum tape, and neoprene gloves, is generated. Such radioactive solid waste is incinerated and stored in drum cans or the like after incineration in order to reduce the volume of the waste as much as possible.

During the incineration work, after preheating the inside of the incinerator body 2, the combustible miscellaneous solid waste 6 is charged by the charging machine 1 into the incineration space 2b from the charging port 2a. This solid waste 6
Is ignited and is incinerated mainly near the bottom of the incineration space 2b. At this time, air is supplied from the air supply port 3 as shown by arrow A or hot air is supplied from the hot air supply port 4 as shown by arrow B. As a result, the miscellaneous solid waste 6 is incinerated and converted into the incinerated material 5 and deposited on the movable bottom lid 14. The exhaust gas generated by the incineration is discharged from the discharge port 7 to the outside of the furnace as indicated by arrow C.

The incinerator 5 deposited on the furnace bottom here is not completely incinerated and contains a considerable amount of unburned portion. Further, as the amount of the incinerated matter 5 accumulated increases, it becomes difficult for the air to come into contact with the unburned matter, so that the combustion efficiency is greatly reduced. Thus, for example, after incineration operation for 1 day, the incineration material 5 is burned for about 1 hour to promote its ashing and its volume is reduced, and then the movable bottom lid 14 is opened to remove the ash. Drop to 15. Then, after the ash is left to cool, it is filled into the drum can 16.

However, in the incinerator as described above, the temperature near the bottom of the furnace is maintained at a high temperature of, for example, about 900 ° C. during the incineration process, but the temperature near the bottom of the furnace is maintained at 200 ° C. during the afterburning. Since the temperature drops to about 300 ° C, it is necessary to repeat such a temperature increasing / decreasing cycle in the incineration space 2b. However, once the temperature near the bottom of the furnace is lowered,
Next, it takes a considerable time to raise the temperature in the incineration space 2b again to a high temperature suitable for incineration,
Very uneconomical. On the other hand, if the incineration operation is continued for a long period of time, for example, 5 hours or more, the amount of the incineration material 5 deposited becomes very large, the combustion efficiency is greatly reduced, the unburned portion becomes very large, and the afterburning takes a long time. As a result, it becomes difficult to reduce the ash volume. In addition, a movable bottom lid
Unburned materials such as tar and incompletely burned materials adhere to the surface of 14,
As it accumulates, surface deposits can become an obstacle when closing the furnace bottom with the movable bottom lid 14 during long-term use.

Next, the operating procedure of the vertical incinerator of this embodiment will be described. The bag-shaped miscellaneous solid waste 6 is charged from the charging machine 1 into the incineration space 2b through the charging port 2a. Space for incineration
Combustion air is supplied as indicated by arrow A or hot air is supplied as indicated by arrow B to the bottom of 2b. The miscellaneous solid waste 6 is ignited, incinerated to be converted into the incinerated matter 5, and the exhaust gas generated by combustion is discharged from the discharge port 7 to the outside of the furnace as shown by an arrow C. The exhaust gas discharged as indicated by arrow C is passed through a ceramic filter to remove dust, and the exhaust gas after dust removal is passed through a high performance particulate filter to remove dust again. Then, the exhaust gas is discharged into the atmosphere by an exhaust gas blower.

According to such a vertical incinerator, since the incinerator 5 is burnt in the afterburning chamber 10, the temperature inside the incinerator main body 2 can be maintained at a high temperature, and therefore the interruption time of the incineration process is short. Thus, the incineration operation can be started immediately. For this reason,
The efficiency of the incineration operation of the incinerator body 2 is greatly improved. Moreover, since the incineration material 5 deposited on the bottom of the incineration space 2b is dropped into the afterburning chamber 10 every predetermined time, it is possible to prevent the combustion efficiency from decreasing due to an increase in the amount of deposition.

According to the vertical incinerator according to the present invention, since the incinerated matter is burnt in the afterburning chamber provided below the incinerator space, the afterburning is performed in the incinerator body. Unlike the furnace, the temperature of the incineration space can be maintained at a high temperature, and therefore the incineration process can be started quickly and the incineration operation can be started quickly, so that the efficiency of the incineration operation in the incinerator main body is greatly improved.

Moreover, the movable bottom lid is moved into the afterburning chamber to drop the incinerated material from the incineration space into the afterburning chamber, and another movable bottom lid is arranged at the bottom of the incineration space to set the furnace. Since the bottom is formed, by repeating this, it is also possible to prevent a decrease in combustion efficiency due to an increase in the amount of incinerated material deposited.

Further, since the movable bottom lid is moved into the afterburning chamber to promote the combustion of the unburned portion and the incompletely burned portion in the incinerated material in the afterburning chamber, it is fixed to the surface of the movable bottom lid. At the same time, the adhered substances are also burned and ashed. Therefore, when the movable bottom lid again closes the bottom of the incineration space, the adhered matter on the surface does not interfere.
