とき、隅部に向つて動く場合には角筒壁4aから
受ける摩擦力が次第に減少し、逆に隅部から離れ
る方向に動く場合には角筒壁4aから受ける摩擦
力が次第に増大してゆくようになり、このように
洗濯物が角筒壁4a内へと上方に移動したときの
動きの変化と角筒壁4aに沿つて周方向に動くと
きの摩擦力の変化とで、洗濯物はより一層複雑な
動きを生ずる。このような洗濯物は容器状攪拌体
5の周壁と角筒壁4aとにわたつて接触し、容器
状攪拌体5から回転力を受けるが、容器状攪拌体
5と角筒壁4aとの間が水平な段部ではなくテー
パ状壁部4cによつて構成されているので、洗濯
物が上下に二分されることなく上下に連続した分
布形態となり易くなる。このため、容器状攪拌体
5から下部位の洗濯物に与えられた回転力が途中
で遮断されることなく上部位の洗濯物まで良好に
伝達されることとなり、容器状攪拌体5と角筒壁
4aとにわたる洗濯物が容器状攪拌体5の周壁と
角筒壁4aとに有効に摩擦接触する機会が与えら
れるものである。また、テーパ状壁部4cの存在
によつて、角筒壁4a内の洗濯物がテーパ状壁部

体5の周壁との大きな摩擦によつて擦り洗い作用
を受けるかたわら、ねじれや圧迫の繰返しによる
一種のもみ洗い作用をも受けて洗われるものであ
り、その洗浄効果は第3図に比較実験結果の一例
として示した如く、即ち、第3図において夫々、
曲線Aは本発明による場合、Bは従来の回転羽根
方式による場合、Cはこの発明に先行して考えら
れた洗い槽回転方式による場合の洗浄比特性を示
し、本発明による洗浄性能がより優れていること

が広いので布量による洗浄効果の過不足を避け得
る。この場合、可動周壁部と固定周壁部との間に
傾斜壁部が設けられていることにより、可動周壁
部から下部位の洗濯物に与えられた回転力が途中
で遮断されることなく上部位の洗濯物まで良好に
伝達されることとなつて、可動周壁部と固定周壁
部とにわたる洗濯物が両壁部に有効に摩擦接触す
る機会が与えられ、且つ固定周壁部内の洗濯物が
傾斜壁部の傾斜によつてスムーズに可動周壁部内
に落下する傾向を呈し、洗濯物の良好なる上下反
転作用が得られるから、上述した洗濯するに必要
な洗濯物の動きを布量が多くとも良好に確保でき
るものである。更に本発明によれば、固定周壁部
を角筒状に形成したので、洗い槽と、この洗い槽
を配設するための外箱との間に生ずる不必要なス
ペースをできるだけ少なくしてその分洗い槽の内
容積を大きくすることができ、一度に洗い得る洗
濯物量の増加を図り得る等の優れた効果を奏する
ものである。
