CONSTITUTION:A dot hammering control printer consists of a printing head 1, a shuttle part 2 for moving the head, a shuttle control driver 3 which controls the movement of the shuttle part 2 and a printing head control driver 4 which drives the head 1 for hammering date. In addition, an internal dotting position generation circuit 5 is provided before the printing head control driver 4. Further the internal dot hammering position generation circuit 5 receives a printing start signal generated as an instruction at the head of printing information, and commands the printing head control driver 4 so that the dot is hammered at an equal time interval corresponding to the resonance period of a piezoelectric element during a period until the reception of a following printing start signal.

て移動位置を検出されつつ、シャトル制御ドライバ3で
所定の速度で駆動される。所定の印刷情報群の先頭に印
字開始信号が与えられるとシャトル制御ドライバ3は印
字開始信号を打点位置内部発生回路5に供給し、打点位
置内部発生回路5はあらかじめ定められた周期(T)の
打点位置信号を次の印字開始信号を受ける迄発生する
(図2参照)。打点位置信号を受信すると印字ヘッド1
は圧電素子(図示せず)が駆動されて用紙上にドットを
印刷する。このドットによる印刷が組み合わせられて文
字または図形が印刷される。圧電素子による駆動が行わ
れる印字ヘッドはその伸縮における共振現象を利用して
いるため共振周期のタイミングをもって駆動する必要が
ある。このため前記周期(T)をこの共振周期に合致さ
せることが必要であり、またシャトルの移動速度も共振
周期に対応した速度が選択されねばならない。なお位置
センサ6はシャトル2と連動するスリットと固定された
位置センサ6に設けられた複数個のスリットのうちの1
つが一致した時を検出して、シャトルの位置を求めるも
のである。
