Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to sharply emphasize printing by overlap typing, by performing printing by shifting lately printed data by 1/n dot so far as the previous printed data is no new line and lately printed data is a new line. CONSTITUTION:When data is inputted to a control circuit 2, the control circuit 2 judges whether said data is a printing start code and, when the printing start code is judged, judges whether the previous printing data accompanies a new line. If the previous printed data accompanies no new line and the lately printed data accompanies the new line, the control circuit 2 controls a motor driver 5 to perform operation for shifting a printing position by a minute distance and outputs a signal to said motor driver 5 to rotate a carrier motor 6 so as to shift the printing position by 1/n dot and outputs printing data to a head driver 3 to perform printing corresponding to one line. The distance shifting a dot is set to 1/n the width of the dot and, by selecting a proper value of (n), a desired emphasis degree can be obtained.

Therefore, since the Azorikeshi = I7 program for computer word processors, etc., which are commonly used in personal computers, specifies multi-print printers, double printing means printing the same print data twice (the first time is without a line break). ) is realized by sending.

Particularly in wire-dot or ink-jet printers, the ink spreads on the paper, so double striking can reduce printing noise to some extent.

However, thermal glinters, thermal transfers, and the like have the disadvantage that, because the colored portion or ink does not diffuse, sufficient printing cannot be achieved even with double striking or several overlapping strikes.

Furthermore, as shown in FIG. 7(,), even if the print data D1 and D2 without a line feed are consecutive, the printing position does not shift until the print data D3 with a line feed is input. A printing result as shown in b) is obtained.

In other words, R1 and R2 are printed overlapping each other, and R1 and R2 are printed overlapping each other.
R3 is printed with a 1/3 dot shift in the horizontal direction, resulting in a strongly emphasized character (in this case, a colon "=").

Incidentally, the direction of the shift is not limited to the horizontal direction, but may be the vertical direction (B of Sr1) or the diagonal direction (C of Sr1), as shown in FIG. When shifting the dots in the vertical direction, it is best to rotate the paper feed shimotor 7 by a predetermined angle to feed the paper minutely (STIO).

Furthermore, when the dots are to be shifted diagonally, this can be achieved by driving the carrier motor 6 and the air blower motor 7 (S''T11 and STI2).

Further, the distance by which the dots are shifted is set to 17n, which is the width of the dots, and by selecting a reasonable value of n, a desired degree of emphasis can be achieved.
