In this type of construction, it is necessary to quickly detect the location of underground main branch plugs from above ground. Hitherto, buried pipe probes that use the so-called guided exploration method have been known as a means of detecting underground metal pipes from above ground, but although these probes can detect the metal pipes themselves, they cannot reach the location of branch plugs. There is a problem that accurate detection is not possible, and the current situation is that we basically have no choice but to search based on the materials used when the pipes were buried.

In view of these conventional difficulties, the present invention attempts to provide a branch stopper with a saddle band that makes it easy to detect the buried position. The main feature of this invention is that it generates an induced magnetic field by passing a current during detection. This is for underground metal piping, and a permanent magnet is attached and fixed to the branch plug body or saddle band.

Alternatively, a method may be adopted in which a permanent magnet is attached in advance to a case made of vinyl chloride or the like, and this is attached to the branch plugs 2, 2'. Note that a copper member may be attached instead of the above-mentioned permanent magnet.

The location of the branch plug can be easily detected using a general buried metal detector. Figure 3 schematically shows the principle of such a detection method, in which electromagnetic waves with directional characteristics sent from the transmitter 6 cause a secondary current to flow through the buried metal pipe P, generating an induced magnetic field m. The position of the buried metal pipe P is detected by measuring the center point of this magnetic field using the search coil 7 and the receiver 8. In such a detection method, the magnetic field at the branch tap position changes due to the action of the permanent magnets 5, 5', and the magnetic field is detected in a manner different from that at other positions. can be properly known.

As described above, according to the present invention, the location of branch plugs of underground metal pipes such as water mains and gas mains can be easily detected using a general buried pipe detection method. Therefore, there is an advantage that this type of buried pipe extraction work can be made more efficient and rational. In addition, since this invention is a branch plug member with a magnet, there is no need to position or install magnets etc. on site, and it can be easily installed. The magnet does not sometimes shift from the branch stopper position, and even if digging is repeated, its function will not be impaired in any way.
