Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a new machining oil for metals capable of not only exhibiting excellent performance as a machining oil in machining but also easily removable from the machining object by heating the object at a specific temperature after machining. CONSTITUTION:The metal-machining oil is produced by compounding a base oil composed of a polybutene having a viscosity of 1.0-10.0cst with 0.5-10wt.% of an oiliness improver consisting of a substance selected from 4-18C fatty acid, aliphatic alcohol and ester or their mixture. The oil exhibits excellent performance as a machining oil and is easily removable simply by heating the machining object after machining. Accordingly, the cleaning process with a detergent is not necessary and the process is extremely useful from industrial point of view.

Conventionally, in this type of metal working, a machining oil is generally used. The machining oil is a mineral oil, a vegetable oil, an animal oil or the like as a base oil, to which various additives are added. The product, which is composed by blending it and has no volatility, requires cleaning to remove the machining oil from the product obtained after processing, and this cleaning work was extremely troublesome and also caused environmental pollution. There is a problem that the cleaning waste liquid needs to be treated from the viewpoint of preventing the above, and that the cleaning waste liquid treatment also requires a great deal of expense.

In the present invention, as the polybutene used as the base oil, in addition to polybutene, there can be mentioned, for example, polybutene-1, polyisobutylene and the like having similar properties, and only one of them can be used alone. Besides being usable, they can also be used as a mixture of two or more kinds. The polybutenes are most preferably polybutenes. This holybten is a viscous liquid polymer mainly having a structure in which a small amount of n-butene is copolymerized with isobutylene, has a very low content of impurities and heavy metals, is free from toxicity and irritation, and has a normal temperature. Viscosity at 1.
Those having 0 to 10.0 cSt are easily volatilized by heating at 200 to 350 ° C., and are hard to be hardened or thermally depolymerized at this time. The polybutenes used in the present invention have a viscosity at room temperature of 1.0 to 10.0 cS.
t, preferably 1.0 to 5.0 cSt, when the viscosity is lower than 1.0 cSt, the load bearing performance as the base oil is insufficient, and the flash point becomes too low, causing a risk of ignition. Further, if it exceeds 10.0 cSt, it becomes difficult to heat and volatilize and remove it without causing hardening or thermal depolymerization after processing, and it becomes necessary to perform cleaning with a cleaning agent.

Further, in the present invention, an oiliness improver comprising one kind or a mixture of two or more kinds selected from fatty acids, aliphatic alcohols and esters is added to the polybutenes as the base oil. This oiliness improver improves the oiliness of the base oil, that is, the strength of the oil film in the boundary lubrication state, lowers the friction coefficient, and improves the load bearing performance during processing. The fatty acids, aliphatic alcohols and esters used as the oiliness improver in the present invention are required to have a carbon number in the range of 4-18, and although it varies depending on the type, it is preferably in the range of 8-12. It is a thing. When the carbon number is less than 4, the oiliness improving effect is insufficient, and when it is more than 18, a residue remains when the processing oil is removed by heating after processing, and a cleaning agent is used to remove the heating residue. It becomes necessary to perform washing.

Examples thereof include octyl alcohol, decyl alcohol, lauryl alcohol, and the like, and examples of the ester include methyl laurate, butyl stearate, and the like. The amount of the oily processing agent added is usually 0.5 to 10% by weight, preferably 1.0 to
It is in the range of 5.0% by weight, and if it is less than 0.5% by weight, the expected oiliness processing action is not exhibited, and 10% by weight
If the amount is larger, there arises a problem that residues such as oil and tin remain after heating after processing.

In the present invention, an extreme pressure additive may be added if necessary for the purpose of reducing wear of the tool during metal working. The extreme pressure additive is preferably one that is volatilized and removed at the same time when heated for the purpose of removing the processing oil after processing, for example, from organic phosphite, organic phosphate and phosphorus-containing surfactant. One kind or a mixture of two or more kinds selected can be used. Specifically, examples of the organic phosphite include dilauryl hydrogen phosphite, trioleyl phosphite, and the like, and examples of the organic phosphate include lauryl phosphate,
Examples include oleyl phosphate, and
Examples of the phosphorus-containing surfactant include polyethylene glycol ether and phosphoric acid ester. When such an extreme pressure additive is added, the addition amount is usually 5% by weight or less, preferably 0.01 to
It is in the range of 1.0% by weight. If it is added in excess of 5% by weight, it is difficult to completely volatilize and remove it only by heating after processing.

According to the processing oil of the present invention, the polybutene used as the base oil has a lubricating performance equal to or higher than that of the low-viscosity mineral oil used in the conventional machining oil. Similarly, it can be used as a lubricating oil for metal processing, and this polybutene has extremely low content of impurities and heavy metals, has no toxicity or irritation, and does not cause hardening or thermal depolymerization by heating. Since it has the property of volatilizing easily, it is possible to volatilize and remove this processing oil by heating the work piece to a prescribed temperature after processing, which eliminates the need for troublesome cleaning work after processing.
