【発明の効果】本発明の包装装置によれば、被包装物の
長手方向の各端部を支持する端部包装材の下側には、接
続部材と側部包装材の底板部とがあり、波形の中芯が二
層になるため、衝撃吸収性が向上して被包装物を確実に
保護できる。また、端部包装材の下面に貼着した接続部
材の下面の波形の中芯と側部包装材の底板部の上面の波
形の中芯との接合により端部包装材を側部包装材の底板
部の長手方向の任意の位置に確実かつ容易に位置決め固
定できる。そこで、組立て作業性を向上して簡単に包装
することができる。さらに、安価な片面段ボールを用い
るため、両面段ボールを用いた包装装置にくらべて安価
に製造することができる。

支持する一対の端部包装材と、前記被包装物および前記
端部包装材の周囲に筒状に巻付け装着された側部包装材
とを備える包装装置において、 前記側部包装材は、波形に形成された中芯の一面に平面
状のライナを設けてなる片面段ボールの前記中芯側を内
側としかつ前記中芯の波形の長手方向を前記被包装物の
長手方向に対して交差する方向に位置させて、前記被包
装物の底面を覆う底板部、この底板部の両側から屈曲さ
れ前記被包装物の各側面を覆う一対の側板部、および、
少なくとも一方の前記側板部から屈曲され前記被包装物
の上面を覆う上板部が設けられ、 前記各端部包装材は、前記被包装物の長手方向両端部の
各端面を支持する端部支持部と、前記被包装物の長手方
向両端部の各下部を支持する下部支持部と、前記端面支
持部および前記下部支持部を連続する底面部と、波形に
形成された中芯の一面に平面状のライナを設けてなる片
面段ボールからなり前記中芯の波形の長手方向を前記被
包装物の長手方向に対して交差する方向に位置させて前
記端部包装材の底面部の下面に平面状の前記ライナ側を
貼着して固定されるとともに前記側部包装材の底板部の
上面の波形の前記中芯に下面の波形の前記中芯を接合し
て固定される接続部材とが設けられたことを特徴とした
