Abstract

CONSTITUTION:A wire 3 is held against the insertion slot 4 of a connector 1. A tool 2 is provided with a push-in bar 5 and a narrowing blade 6. The wire 3 is pushed into the insertion slot 4 by the push-in bar 5. Thereafter, the insertion slot 4 accepting the wire 3 is pushed by the narrowing blade 6 so that an opening side is narrowed.

【実施例】以下、本発明による一実施例を図1〜図4で
説明する。図において、1は接続器、2は接続作業に用
いる工具、3は接続する電線、4は挟入溝、5は押し込
み棒そして6は狭め刃である。その挟入工程は以下の通
りである。まず、図1で示すように接続器1の挟入溝4
に電線3を入れる。図2で示すように挟入溝4に入れた
電線3を押し込み棒5で押し込んでいく。電線3の被覆
が挟入溝4のエッジによって破壊され芯線3aが挟入さ
れてゆき、ストロークAまで押し込んだ時点から、図3
で示すように狭め刃6が接続器1の挟入溝4を押し狭め
ていき、ストロークBまで押し込むと接続が完了する。
そして、図4で示すように、工具2を接続器1から抜き
取る。押し込み棒5で電線3を挿入する際、電線3の挟
入と同時に接続器1を狭め刃6が両側から押し狭め、そ
れによって挟入溝4を狭めることによって挟入電線3の
芯線3aを圧縮し、その状態で接続器1が永久変形を起
こし、電線3は強固に保持される。これにより、接続器
1の開口部方向への引っ張りに対する保持力の向上と芯
線3aが圧縮されることによる芯線3aと接続器1の接
触面積が大きくなる。また、接続の作業時間や接続器1
の製作費にも影響を与えないので接続器1の変更にかか
る費用と接続工具の作成費だけでこのような向上が可能
である。複数の線を接続する接続器1では挟入溝4の相
互間に溝を追加した。その溝に狭め刃6が入ることによ
り接続器1の両側からの押し狭めでは十分に芯線を圧縮
出来ない複数の線を接続する接続器1も十分に芯線3a
を圧縮することができる。本実施例によれば、挟入溝4
が線の挿入後に狭められるため、電線3の保持力が向上
し、芯線3aが圧縮されることによる優れた接触抵抗が
得られる。
