2. Description of the Related Art In a flat knitting machine, knitting is continued while a pulling tension is applied to a knitted fabric by a knitting fabric lowering device arranged downstream of a needle bed. In recent flat knitting machines, the knitting fabric lowering device is composed of a plurality of knitting fabric lowering means. For example, in the flat knitting machine shown in FIG. 1, three-stage knitted fabric lowering means including a set-up lowering device 3 slidable in the vertical direction, a main lowering device 2 operating at a fixed point, and a sub lowering device 1 operating at a fixed point. The knitted fabric 4 is pulled down by configuring a knitted fabric lowering device. In this case, the pulling-down tension of each pulling-down device is set for each pulling-down device corresponding to the operation or non-operation of each pulling-down device of the knitting data of the knitted fabric.

Next, the operation of each knitted fabric lowering device will be described. At the start of knitting, the set-up and lowering device 3 is elevated from the origin position E to the position A. In this state, the first knitted fabric 4 for one course is knitted. Next, the set-up and pull-down device 3 descends, and the hooks provided on the set-down device 3 move the knitted fabric 4
Grasp the loop of the first course of. After that, a loop of the knitted fabric 4 is sequentially formed, and the knitted fabric 4 is gradually lowered downward by the set-up and lowering device 3. When the set-up and pull-down device 3 is lowered to the position B, the nip roll 5 of the sub-pull-down device 1 moves from the solid line position to the dotted line position, and the sub-pull-down device 1 holds the knitted fabric 4. After that, the knitted fabric 4 is pulled down by the set-up pulling-down device 3 and the sub pulling-down device 1. When the set-up and lowering device 3 is lowered to the position C,
The nip roll 6 of the main pull-down device 2 moves from the position indicated by the solid line to the position indicated by the dotted line, and the main pull-down device 2 also moves to the knitted fabric 4.
Hold. After that, the knitted fabric 4 is pulled down by the set-up pulling-down device 3, the sub-pulling-down device 1 and the main pulling-down device 2. Next, when the set-up and lowering device 3 is lowered to the position D, the stitch removing device 7 is activated and the knitted fabric 4 is removed from the set-up and lowering device 3. Thereafter, the knitted fabric 4 is pulled down by the sub pulling-down device 1 and the main pulling-down device 2.

An example of the knitting fabric pull-down tension control method when knitting the formed knitted fabric shown in FIG. 5 will be described below. FIG. 5 shows an example of a knitted fabric for molding, 20 is a set-up portion, 21 is a rubber knitted portion, 22 is a body portion, 23 is a stitch reduction portion, and 24 is a discarded knitted portion. A to E show the positions of the set-up and lowering device 3 corresponding to FIGS. 1 and 2. Table 2 is an example of set values of tensions applied by the respective pulling-down devices for knitting the knitted fabric of FIG. 5 by the pull-down tension control method of the prior art. In this example, the pull-down tension applied to the knitted fabric is constant at 6 kg (when knitting the knitted fabric with 300 needles), the knitted fabric is divided into four as shown in FIG. Accordingly, it is necessary to calculate and set the pull-down tension for each pull-down device for each divided area.

In the knitted fabric pull-down tension control method according to the present invention, the pull-down tension applied to the knitted fabric is set to a constant value (for example, 6 kg in the knitted fabric of FIG. 5), and the tension distribution ratio is 1: 2: 2, that is, the sub-pull-down device. It is set to 1 for 1, the main pulling device 2 for 2, and the set-up pulling device 3 for 2 so that this distribution ratio is applied to each active pulling device. For example, when only the set-up pulling-down device 3 operates, a tension of 6 kg is applied to the knitted fabric by the set-up pulling-down device 3 and the main pulling-down device 2
Alternatively, when the set-up pulling device 3 does not operate, the sub-pulling-down device 1 gives a tension of 2 kg to the knitted fabric, and the set-up pulling-down device 3 or the main pulling-down device 2 gives a tension of 4 kg. If all the three-stage pulling down devices are activated, the sub pulling down device 1 is 1.2 kg, and the main pulling down device 2 is 2.4 k.
g, the tension of 2.4 kg is applied to the knitted fabric by the set-up and lowering device 3. Therefore, by setting only the pull-down tension applied to the knitted fabric and the distribution ratio, all tensions during knitting of the knitted fabric can be controlled.
