The crimped yarn has been used practically for a long time, but when the crimp elongation ratio is increased to increase the bulkiness, especially in a cut pile carpet, the single yarn constituting the pile is bent and the felt is felt. There is a problem that it becomes like and it is not possible to achieve both bulkiness and napiness.

Regarding a crimped yarn for carpets, which has a non-circular cross-sectional shape of a single yarn, that is, a modified cross-section yarn, for example, the irregularity of the tri-lobal yarn is disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 62-36869. It is described that the crimp ratio is limited to 3.7 or more and the crimp ratio is limited to 4 to 9.5.

However, the irregularity of the irregularly shaped cross-section yarn is set to 3.
When the number is 7 or more, not only the protrusion becomes thin and the wear resistance and light resistance are poor, but also the bending recovery property is extremely poor and crushing, that is, fatigue is likely to occur, and it is considered as a means for recovering this fatigue. A technique to increase the fineness of single yarn is used, but in this case the single yarn becomes coarse and rigid, and when used as a carpet, the aesthetic appearance and elastic feeling when traversing are inferior, and a high quality cut pile carpet cannot be obtained. Has the problem.

No. 45061, Japanese Utility Model Application Laid-Open No. 54-82115, and Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 61-83307. The drawback common to these is that the bending rigidity is poor, and particularly in a cut pile carpet, the pile tends to fall and a satisfactory product cannot be obtained.

Further, the modified hollow fiber is described in, for example, JP-A-48-42134, JP-A-59-36714 and JP-B-2-8044. When these are used for a cut pile carpet, there is a problem in that the hollow portion is easily broken or crushed and falls down, and the wear resistance of the mountain portion is extremely inferior, and it easily becomes fibrillated when used for a long time.

The hollow crimped yarn of the present invention is obtained by heat-melting a polymer, spinning from a spinneret having a plurality of specially shaped holes, and air-cooling,
It is obtained by supplying oil, subsequently stretching it to 2.5 to 4.5 times, crimping it, and confounding it if necessary. In this process, spinning, drawing, crimping, and imparting entanglement may be sequentially performed individually, but a continuous continuous process is efficient and preferable.

Was melted in the above step and spun using a die having a large number of specially shaped holes as illustrated in FIG. At this time, a die having different numbers of specially shaped holes, a width and a length of the gap, a gradually increasing rate of the gap toward the outside and a gap of the abutting portion was prepared and used. The spun yarn is sprayed with air at 17 ° C. and 90 RH% to cool it, and after oiling, the surface speed is 900
m / min to a room temperature roller, followed by drawing to a heated roller with a surface speed of 2700 m / min to draw and preheat the yarn, continuously supplying it to the crimping nozzle with superheated steam. After crimping in the overfeed state, 15 entangles / m were entangled by passing through a entanglement nozzle with high-speed air, and then wound with a tension of 130 g to obtain a hollow crimped yarn of 1300 denier.

At this time, various hollow crimped yarns were obtained by sequentially replacing the die with different sizes of the specially shaped holes and changing the temperature of the heating roller and the temperature of the superheated steam supplied to the crimping nozzle. The degree of deformation of the single yarns mainly constituting these hollow crimped yarns was 2.5 to 2.7 and was almost constant in all cases. Using the hollow crimped yarn obtained in this manner, tufting was performed so that the gauge was 1/8 inch, the number of stitches was 9 pieces / inch, and the pile height was 6.5 mm, and various weights of 330 g / m 2 were obtained. A cut pile carpet was obtained.
