2. Description of the Related Art Adhesive tapes are often used as a masking material as a wrapping agent, and are generally manufactured by a method in which a base fabric is coated with an anchor coat, laminated with a polyethylene film and coated with a pressure sensitive adhesive. Various fibers such as cellulose fibers, acrylic fibers, polyester fibers, or rayon spun yarns are used as the base fabric, but polyester fibers are relatively inexpensive and have a good strength retention rate when wet. It is widely used for reasons such as However, the base cloth fabric for adhesive tape is required to have good hand-cutting properties at the time of use, be beautifully cut, and be inexpensive, and be of good quality so that curling or meandering does not occur during manufacturing or storage. On the other hand, yarn breakage, fluff, and slack are generated in the base fabric, and when the misalignment occurs, the product is curled or the cut meanders. In particular, a woven fabric having a coarse weave density using filament yarns is apt to cause misalignment, and this improvement is desired. In addition, the base fabric made of polyester fiber is still insufficient in terms of hand-cutting property and beautiful cut end required for the base fabric for adhesive tape.

For example, in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 58-91845, a method for producing a base fabric for an adhesive tape in which a polyester fiber is heat-treated at a high temperature in a process for producing an adhesive tape to reduce the elongation to improve the hand tearability. Is disclosed. Further, conventionally, as a base fabric for adhesive tape, (1) Woven fabric with twist added (2) Woven fabric with 5-8% of paste material added (3) Entangled weave Known woven fabrics and the like are known, but as for (1), the inefficient process of twisting is required in terms of manufacturing method, which is very disadvantageous in terms of cost. Furthermore, the hand-cutting property is poor and the cuts are uneven. Regarding (2), it is disadvantageous as a base fabric for adhesive tapes having a low weaving density because of disadvantages such as disordered weave and generation of fluff, in addition to the process of desizing and drying required in the manufacturing process. was there. With regard to (3), it is an inexpensive method in terms of manufacturing method and has been widely used in recent years. However, although there was no problem in the conventional low-to-medium speed weaving, it was a harsh sliding as the loom speed increased. Due to the rubbing action or the loosening action of the tension, the confounding points may come off and filament breakage, fluffs and sagging may occur. The woven fabric obtained by this method has almost no entanglement points. In general applications other than pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes, the presence of entanglement points on a woven fabric causes flickering or flickering, which is rather unfavorable because it deteriorates the quality. For this reason, research has been done in the direction of eliminating the confounding points in the woven fabric, but no research has been done to positively utilize it. The present inventors have earnestly studied in order to improve the curl of the tape and the meandering of the cut surface, which are presumed to be caused by the occurrence of misalignment of the base fabric for the adhesive tape, and as a result, a specific number of confounding points hardened with a sizing agent. The present invention has been found to be highly effective as a base fabric for pressure-sensitive adhesive tape, and has arrived at the present invention.

The polyester multifilament used in the present invention is a polyester multifilament obtained by melt-spinning a general polyester resin or copolymer containing terephthalic acid as a main acid component. And additives such as a heat stabilizer and a matting agent may be mixed. The preferred single yarn denier and total denier of the polyester multifilament used are 0.5 to 3d in terms of adhesive tape strength and hand tearability,
It is 30 to 70d.

It is necessary that the density of the woven fabric is 40 to 60 yarns / inch and the weft density is 60 to 90% of the warp density. The preferable warp density is 42 to 48 lines / inch, and the weft density is 38 to 45 lines / inch. The most important feature of the base fabric for pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes of the present invention is that at least warp yarns have 20 to 50 entanglement points / m which are retained by the sizing agent.

The number of entanglements and the amount of sizing agent are subtly related to warpability, weavability, misalignment of the obtained woven fabric, and adhesiveness with a polyethylene film. When the sizing agent is applied to the entangled polyester multifilament, a large amount of the sizing agent is applied to the entangled portion, and depending on the sizing agent concentration and the sizing agent type, 1.5 to
It is about 3 times more than the part without confounding. If the number of entanglements is less than 20, misalignment is likely to occur at the time of handling before the polyethylene film is adhered or in the adhering process, and the adhesive tape may be curled or the cut may meander. If the misalignment is serious, the tape surface may have irregularities when the adhesive tape is stored for a long period of time. If the number of entanglements is more than 50, the adhesive agent attachment points increase, the effect of the anchor coating agent is reduced, and the adhesiveness with the polyethylene film of the backup material is reduced, and in the extreme case, peeling occurs. .

Such a base fabric for adhesive tape of the present application is
A polyester multifilament was entangled with 20 to 50 pieces / m by a method such as jetting, and then a sizing agent of 0.5 to 3% was used for at least the warp, and the warp density was 40 to 60 pieces / Inch, weft density is 60 to 90 of warp density
It is obtained by weaving to a density of%. An interlace method is generally used to impart 20 to 50 filaments / m of entanglement to the polyester multifilament. If the number of entanglements is too large, a large amount of air is required during the entanglement process, which is not preferable in terms of cost, and further, fluff or a single yarn loop is likely to occur during the entanglement process, which lowers the physical properties of the raw yarn. There's a problem. On the other hand, if the number of entanglements is too small, the sizing property is deteriorated, and single yarn loosening and poor opening are likely to occur during sizing and weaving.

By applying a sizing agent to the entangled polyester multifilament, an entanglement point whose form is fixed by the sizing agent is formed in the polyester multifilament. As the sizing agent, those having an acrylic acid ester copolymer, a methacrylic acid ester, or a polyester type polycondensate as a main component are suitable, and a small amount of additives such as an antistatic agent may be added thereto. .. Appropriate concentration of these sizing agents according to the desired amount of adhesion (generally 2 to 5% active ingredient concentration)
Then, it is glued and warped by roller sizing method, slushy method, etc.

When the sizing agent is 0.5% or less, even when a large number of entanglements are imparted during weaving, particularly when wefts are driven at a high-speed rotation of the loom exceeding 800 rpm,
The entanglement points are dislodged during rubbing against the heddle and the reed, and during the opening movement of the heddle, and there is almost no entanglement point left in the obtained fabric. If the sizing agent exceeds 3%, the sizing may occur during the weaving process, or the effect of the anchor coating agent that is an adhesive with the polyethylene film in the tape manufacturing process may be reduced, resulting in poor adhesion to the polyethylene film.
