2. Description of the Related Art Adhesive tapes are frequently used as masking materials as packaging materials, and are generally manufactured by applying an anchor coat to a base fabric, bonding the base fabric to a polyethylene film, and applying an adhesive. Various fibers such as cellulose fiber, acrylic fiber, polyester fiber, and rayon spun yarn are used for the base fabric, but polyester fiber is particularly inexpensive and has good strength retention when wet. It is widely used for such reasons. However, the base fabric for the adhesive tape is required to have good hand-cutting properties at the time of use, to have a beautiful cut and to be inexpensive, and to be of good quality which does not cause curling or meandering during production or storage. On the other hand, if the base fabric has thread breakage, fluff or slack, or misalignment has occurred, the product will curl or the cut will meander. In particular, a woven fabric having a coarse weaving density using a filament yarn is liable to cause misalignment, and this improvement is desired. In addition, a base fabric made of polyester fiber is not yet sufficient in terms of hand-cutting properties and beautiful cut edges required for a base fabric for an adhesive tape.

For example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 58-91845 discloses a process for producing a base fabric for pressure-sensitive adhesive tape in which polyester fibers are subjected to a high-temperature heat treatment in the process of producing a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape to reduce elongation to thereby improve hand-cutting properties. Is disclosed. Further, conventionally, as a base cloth fabric for an adhesive tape, (1) a woven fabric woven with warp (1) a twisted woven fabric (2) a woven fabric woven with 5 to 8% of an adhesive material, (3) a woven fabric entangled Although a woven fabric or the like is known, the method (1) requires an inefficient process of twisting, which is extremely disadvantageous in terms of cost. Further, the hand-cutting properties are poor, and the cuts are not uniform. Regarding (2), the manufacturing method requires a process of desizing and drying, and the base fabric for adhesive tape having a low weaving density has disadvantages such as irregularities in the texture and generation of fluff. was there. The method (3) is an inexpensive method for manufacturing, and has been frequently used in recent years. However, although there was no problem in the conventional low-medium-speed weaving, harsh sliding was required as the speed of the loom increased. The entanglement point is dislodged due to the rubbing action and the loosening action of the tension, so that the filament is liable to be broken, and the fluff and slack are easily generated. The woven fabric obtained by this method has few entanglement points. In general applications other than those for adhesive tapes, the presence of entangled points on the woven fabric results in flickering and flickering, which is rather undesirable as having reduced quality. For this reason, research on eliminating entanglement points in woven fabrics has been made, but no research has been made on actively using them. The present inventors have conducted intensive studies in order to improve the curl of the tape and the meandering of the cut surface, which are presumed to be caused by misalignment of the base fabric for the adhesive tape, and as a result, a specific number of entangled points fixed with the glue Has been found to have a large effect as a base fabric for an adhesive tape, and has reached the present invention.

The polyester multifilament used in the present invention is a polyester multifilament obtained by melt-spinning a general polyester resin or a copolymer containing terephthalic acid as a main acid component. Further, additives such as a heat stabilizer and a matting agent may be mixed. Preferred single yarn denier and total denier of the polyester multifilament to be used are 0.5 to 3 d in terms of adhesive tape strength and hand cutting property,

It is necessary that the density of the woven fabric is 40 to 60 yarns / inch and the weft density is 60 to 90% of the warp density. The preferred density is 42 to 48 lines / inch, and the weft density is 38 to 45 lines / inch. The greatest feature of the base fabric for pressure-sensitive adhesive tape of the present invention is that at least the warp yarn has 20 to 50 entangled points which are held in a form by a sizing agent.

[0008] The number of entanglements and the amount of sizing agent are delicately related to warping properties, weaving properties, misalignment of the obtained woven fabric, and adhesion to a polyethylene film. When a sizing agent is applied to the entangled polyester multifilament, a large amount of the sizing agent is applied to the entangled portion, and depending on the sizing agent concentration and the sizing agent type, 1.5 to
About 3 times more than the part without confounding. If the number of entanglements is less than 20, misalignment is likely to occur during handling before the bonding of the polyethylene film or in the bonding step, and the adhesive tape will be curled or the cut will meander. When misalignment is severe, when the adhesive tape is stored for a long period of time, irregularities may occur on the tape surface. If the number of confounds is more than 50, the number of glue attachment points increases, the effect of the anchor coat agent is reduced, the adhesiveness of the backup material to the polyethylene film is reduced, and in extreme cases, peeling occurs.

Such a base fabric for an adhesive tape of the present invention is as follows.
Polyester multifilaments are entangled at 20 to 50 pcs / m by a method such as injection processing, and then, at least 0.5 to 3% of a sizing agent is applied to at least the warp yarn, and the warp density is 40 to 60 filaments / m. Inch, weft density is 60-90 of longitude
% By weaving. An interlace system is generally used to impart 20 to 50 filaments / m to the polyester multifilament. It is not preferable in terms of cost to increase the number of confounds because a large amount of air is required at the time of the confounding treatment. There's a problem. Conversely, if the number of entanglements is too small, the convergence will be reduced, and single yarns will be loosened or poor opening will occur during gluing or weaving.

By applying a sizing agent to the entangled polyester multifilament, entangled points fixed in form by the sizing agent are formed in the polyester multifilament. The sizing agent is preferably an acrylate copolymer, a methacrylate, or a polyester-based condensation polymer as a main component, and a small amount of an additive such as an antistatic agent may be added thereto. . An appropriate concentration (generally, the concentration of the active ingredient is 2 to 5%) according to the target amount of the paste.
Then, it is glued and warped by a roller sizing method, a slasher method, or the like.

When the amount of the paste is 0.5% or less, when wefting is performed at the time of weaving, particularly when the loom rotates at a high speed exceeding 800 rpm, even if many confounds are given,
During the rubbing with the heald or the reed or the shedding movement of the heald, the entanglement point comes off, and almost no entanglement point remains in the obtained fabric. If the amount of the glue exceeds 3%, the paste may be removed in the weaving process, or the effect of the anchor coat agent, which is the adhesive with the polyethylene film, in the tape manufacturing process may be reduced, and the adhesiveness with the polyethylene film may be poor.
