Abstract

PURPOSE:To disuse a squeezing device, to miniaturize a wet type developing device and to make it inexpensive by providing a control means which makes the pressure of a developing head negative when development is executed, cuts off the supply of liquid developer while keeping the negative pressure when the development is finished and operates the developing head turning it. CONSTITUTION:When the developing is finished, a developing frame 204 is driven to be turned by a fine angle around a turning shaft 205 as a center and the developing head 203a is inclined by a fine angle. Simultaneously, a solenoid valve 11 is switched and a flowing path between the head 203a and the liquid developer tank of the liquid developer supply system thereof is cut off. Then, the supply of the liquid developer from the developer tank is stopped. At this time, the action of a sucking pump is continued and air flows into a slit-like aperture of the head 203a through a small gap formed on the head 203a inclined by a fine angle with respect to a recording paper 201. Then, the liquid developer in the slit-like aperture is sucked by the sucking pump and recovered to a developing tank. Besides, the excessive liquid developer attached on the surface of the recording paper is recovered together following the suction of the air.

As described above, the conventional wet type developing device is provided with a plurality of developing heads 6 to 9 so as to supply the toners of a plurality of colors, and is in a roll shape. While the electrographic recording paper is being conveyed by the recording paper feed roller 11, the first recording head 5 for electrostatic latent image recording
An electrostatic latent image of a color is formed, and a developing head for a developer (a liquid developer containing toner of a color corresponding to the color) corresponding to the first color is raised from the standby position on the electrostatic latent image. After the recording paper 2 is slidably contacted and developed, the electrostatic recording paper 2 is rewound to the original roll, and while the recording paper 2 is conveyed again, the electrostatic latent image of the second color is formed by the recording head 5 and developed. This operation is repeated a plurality of times (several colors) to obtain a color image.

As described above, in the conventional method, the developer adhering to the recording paper is sucked and removed by the squeeze device consisting of the squeeze head and the vacuum pump, but this causes waste liquid to be periodically discarded. There must be. In addition, since it is necessary to secure a space for installing the squeeze head, the transport path for the recording paper is lengthened accordingly, and installation of a squeeze head, a vacuum pump, a waste liquid tank, etc. makes it difficult to downsize the device. Further, there arises a problem that it leads to an increase in cost.

In order to achieve the above object, the present invention is configured as follows. That is, the recording paper on which the electrostatic latent image is formed is conveyed along the recording paper conveyance path, and the developer is applied to the surface of the conveyed recording paper to develop the electrostatic latent image. As a developing device used in a recording device, an opening is provided on the upper surface, and by sucking the opening to a negative pressure, the recording paper is sucked and the developing solution is sucked into the opening and circulated. Has a plurality of developing heads and a shaft parallel to the direction traversing the recording paper conveyance path, and the developing heads are arranged and held in parallel around the shaft, and the shaft is used as a center of rotation. By rotating the developing head, one of the developing heads sequentially faces a predetermined position of the recording paper conveyance path, and the developing head holding means for closely adjoining the road surface and the developing head used for the development at the time of negative pressure Negative pressure at the end Supply of Chitsutsu developer blocked, more constituting the developing head and control means for small angle rotating operation.

In the above structure, by rotating the developing head holding means, the developing head is rotated about a rotation axis parallel to the recording sheet conveying path surface, and each developing head is sequentially opened on the upper surface. It is possible to switch the part between the developing action state parallel to the recording sheet conveyance path surface and the retracted state in which the section is obliquely separated from the recording sheet conveyance path surface. Then, since the developing head holding means rotates about the rotating shaft, each developing head enters the developing action state at a specific position. Then, for development, suction is applied to the developing head in the developing action state to give a negative pressure, so that the recording paper is attracted to the opening of the developing head and the negative pressure sucks the developing solution into the opening. By applying a developing solution to the surface of the recording paper, the electrostatic latent image formed on the surface of the recording paper is developed. When the development is completed, the developing head in the developing action state is rotated by a small angle to shift to the retracted state, and the supply of the developing solution is cut off. The developing head, which was in the developing action state, is tilted by this minute angle to create a slight gap with the recording paper surface, and air enters the opening through the gap of the developing head with respect to the recording paper surface. The liquid is sucked, and the developer adhering to the recording paper surface is also sucked and collected at the same time.

Accordingly, the squeeze device, which is a device dedicated to collecting the developer adhering to the recording paper surface, which has been conventionally provided, can be eliminated, whereby the length of the recording paper conveying path can be shortened and the device can be downsized. In addition, it is possible to reduce the cost because parts such as a squeeze head and a vacuum pump that are components of the squeeze device can be reduced, and a plurality of developing heads can be integrally attached to the developing head holding means. Since the developing head holding means is held and supported by the rotating shaft and is rotated together with the developing head holding means, the operation of tilting the developing head is easy, and the developing head has a simpler structure than the conventional one. It becomes possible to operate.

Now, assume that the recording paper 201 (P) is unwound from the roll and set in the recording paper conveyance path, and the electromagnetic valve 211 of the developing solution supply system of the developing head 203 is opened to open the developing solution supply system. When the suction pump 210 is operated, the slit-shaped openings 64a to 64 of the developing head 203a.
n is exhausted, and the inside of these is made negative pressure. As a result, the recording paper 201 (P) is attracted to the upper peripheral flat surface portion 63 of the developing head 203a. When the recording paper 201 (P) is adsorbed by the developing head 203a, the slit-shaped openings 64a to 64n, which are developing grooves, form a closed flow path for the developing solution. Therefore, the developing solution flows from the developing solution tank 212 into the developing head 203a through the electromagnetic valve 211, fills the slit-shaped openings 64a to 64n, and further circulates from the developing head 203a to the suction pump 210 to the developing solution tank 212. Form a return channel.

The developing head is rotated about a rotation axis parallel to the recording paper conveyance path surface, so that the opening on the upper surface is in a developing operation state parallel to the recording paper conveyance path surface and the recording paper conveyance path surface. It is possible to switch to a retracted state in which the recording paper is attracted to the opening by negative pressure in the developing action state, and the developing solution is sucked into the opening by this negative pressure and the developing solution acts on the recording paper surface. By doing so, the electrostatic latent image formed on the recording paper surface is developed,
At the end of development, the developing head that was in this developing action state is moved to a retracted state by rotating it by a small angle,
Air is sucked in by utilizing the gap of the developing head with respect to the recording paper surface generated by this slight angle inclination,
By shutting off the supply of the developing solution, the developing solution in the opening of the developing head and the adhering developing solution on the surface of the recording paper are collected.

Therefore, the squeeze device, which is a device dedicated to collecting the developer adhering to the recording paper surface, which has been conventionally provided, can be eliminated, whereby the length of the recording paper conveying path can be shortened and the device can be miniaturized. In addition to this, it is possible to reduce the cost because parts such as a squeeze head and a vacuum pump that are components of the squeeze device can be reduced, and the developing head can be integrally attached to a structure holding a plurality of developing heads. Since the structure (unit) is supported by the rotating shaft and is rotated together with the structure, the operation of tilting the developing head is easy, and the operation of the developing head is simpler than the conventional one. It will be possible.

As described above, according to the present invention, a small amount of air flows in through the gap between the inclined developing head and the recording paper, and the developer in the developing groove can be efficiently removed.
Further, by feeding the recording paper with the developing head tilted, it is possible to suck and remove the adhesion of the developing solution to the recording paper when the recording paper is separated from the developing head. Therefore,
The squeeze device that has been conventionally provided can be eliminated, so that the transport path can be shortened and the device can be downsized. Moreover, since the related components of the squeeze device can be reduced, the cost can be reduced. Further, since the plurality of developing heads are rotated together with the unit as a unit, the operation of tilting the developing head is easy, and this can be performed with a simpler configuration than in the past.
