Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a vehicle carrier having a bumper which can be located at an optimum height without preventing the movement of a gangboard. CONSTITUTION:A bumper 19 is attached to the free end of a bracket 20 one end of which is supported by a load-carrying platform 3 so that it can move vertically. The bumper 19 is also supported by a spring 22 which applies upward force to it. An abutting board 23 is fixed to the bracket 20 and when a gangboard 9 slides on the road surface, the tip of the gangboard 9 is abutted to the abutting board 23 to automatically lower the bumper 19 to store it under the gangaboard 9. This constitution allows the bumper 19 to be located at an optimum height without preventing the movement of the gangboard 9.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a vehicle transporting vehicle for loading and transporting an automobile on a loading platform, and more particularly to providing an inclined surface at the end of the loading platform and automatically loading and unloading the vehicle on the inclined surface. The present invention relates to a vehicle carrier having a road plate that slides and connects a cargo bed and a road surface.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, a vehicle carrier is provided with a structure that allows a vehicle to be transported to and from a carrier by itself. As one of such structures, an inclined surface inclined downward is provided at the end of the cargo bed, generally at the rear end of the cargo bed, and a road board is slidably mounted on the inclined surface. There is one in which the road plate is automatically slid by a drive device to connect the cargo bed and the road surface when loading and unloading (see, for example, Kaikaihei 1-72427).

However, when the bumper is arranged below the path of the road plate as described above, the lower end of the inclined surface of the cargo bed is originally close to the road surface, so that the distance between the bumper and the road surface is very small. When the road surface becomes smaller and there is a change in slope or a step, the bumper easily comes into contact with the road surface.

Further, since the height of the bumper from the road surface becomes too low, the function as the bumper cannot be sufficiently exerted, and as a result, the safety of the vehicle guided vehicle deteriorates.

In order to achieve the above object, a bumper is attached to a free end of a bracket, one end of which is pivotally supported on a bed of a carrier, so that the vertical position of the bumper is movably supported. When the road plate that connects the luggage carrier and the road surface when loading and unloading the vehicle is stored on the inclined surface of the luggage carrier, the bumper is fixed to the uppermost position of the movable range, and the road plate is slid toward the road surface. A driving means for lowering the bumper and retracting it below the road plate is provided.

In order to drive the road plate 9, a chain 11 is stretched along the back surface of the road plate 9 while being stretched between the two pulleys 12 and 13.
1 and the road plate 9 are connected via a connecting fitting 14.
Further, a motor 15 as a drive device is arranged near the pulley 13 located above the road plate 9, and the rotational force is transmitted from the motor 15 to the pulley 13 via the belt 16. Therefore, when the motor 15 is operated, the chain 11 travels, whereby the road plate 9 slides along the guide 10 in the inclination direction of the inclined surface 8.

Further, the vehicle carrier 1 is provided with a bumper 19 for safety at the time of collision at the lower end of the inclined surface 8 of the loading platform 3 corresponding to the front end of the vehicle body. The bumper 19
Is arranged at an optimum height so that it does not come into contact with the road surface 7 even if the road surface 7 has a change in slope or a step, and moreover, the bumper functions sufficiently. The bumper 19 arranged at such a height is located in the path of the sliding road plate 9. Therefore, the vehicle carrier 1 is provided with a structure for automatically retracting the bumper 19 to the lower side of the road plate 9 when the road plate 9 slides toward the road surface 7, as described later.

According to the bumper automatic retreat structure, when the tip of the road plate 9 that slides from the storage position toward the road surface 7 contacts the contact plate 23 of the bracket 20, the bracket 20
Receives a downward force and rotates downward as the road plate 9 advances. As a result, the bumper 19 automatically descends and the road plate 9
Moves to the use position by passing over the lowered bumper 19. That is, the bumper 19 automatically retracts to the lower side of the road plate 9 when the road plate 9 slides toward the road surface 7.
