Abstract

PURPOSE:To prepare the subject composition improved in finish by mixing a surfactant, a volatile or liquid amine compound and water. CONSTITUTION:0.01-20wt.% surfactant is mixed with 0.01-20wt.% volatile or liquid amine compound of formula I, II, III or IV (wherein R3, R6, R8, R10, R12, R14 and R15 are each H or 1-4C alkyl; and R4, R5, R7, R9, R11 and R13 are each H, 1-4C alkyl or 2-3C hydroxyalkyl) and water to give the objective detergent composition which will largely or wholly give a hexagonal or lamella liquid crystal or its gel when the water and other voltile components therein evaporate and, as a result, the water content is lowered to 10wt.% or below.

2. Description of the Related Art Generally, if the dirt on a solid surface is contaminated for a long time from the time when it is cleaned, it becomes difficult to clean it because the adhesion to the substrate surface becomes strong. For example,
Dirt substances adhering to the ventilation fan, walls around the kitchen, glass, refrigerator, etc., are oxidized and changed into a sticky degenerated oil when left for a long time. In addition to the area around the kitchen, oil stains such as hand stains and tar stains that are difficult to clean are present throughout the entire home.

As a detergent for removing such oily stains, for example, as a liquid detergent composition for household use which does not require rinsing, JP-A-2-29498 discloses an anionic surfactant, a terpene solvent and a water-soluble divalent metal. Liquid detergent composition containing a salt, JP-A-3-41200 discloses a hard surface cleaning composition containing an anionic surfactant ammonium salt, ethanolamine and a solvent, JP-A-3-199297 discloses. A hard surface cleaning composition containing an anionic surfactant ammonium salt, ethanol, n-butoxypropanol, and 2-pentanol and no ethanolamine is disclosed. However, although these compositions have been considerably improved in that wiping lines remain, there is a need for further improvement in practical use.

In order to solve such a problem, the present inventors have diligently studied the relationship between the finish on a hard surface and the state of the solid content in the detergent composition remaining on the surface. As a result, they have found that the finishability varies depending on the association state of non-volatile components such as a surface active agent on the hard surface, and completed the present invention.

That is, the present invention provides a hard surface liquid detergent composition containing (a) a surfactant, (b) a volatile or liquid amine compound, and (c) water. When the water content and other volatile components are evaporated to a water content of 10% by weight or less in the detergent composition, most or all of the detergent composition is hexagonal type or lamellar type. The present invention provides a detergent composition for hard surfaces, which is a liquid crystal or a gel thereof.

In the present invention, the condition when the water content in the hard surface cleaner composition is 10% by weight or less is as follows:
Observed by the following test method. Put 50g of detergent solution (or its aqueous solution) into a Petri dish with a radius of 2cm, 30 ℃, 60%
It is left to stand in RH for natural drying, and the state at each water content in the composition at that time is observed with a polarizing microscope. If all or most of the detergent composition exhibits a hexagonal type or lamellar type liquid crystal or a gel thereof when the water content in the composition is about 10% by weight, the detergent composition is sprayed or applied onto a hard surface. After that, even if it is wiped off and naturally dried, almost no wiping lines are left on the hard surface.
