Abstract

PURPOSE:To store and display optional information with relating to map and to display data which are sent out of a vehicle and data which are received from outside. CONSTITUTION:A control part 3 stores input data from an image input part 4 in a writable storage part 1b in a storage part 1 so that the data are related to map information in a read-only storage part 1a. The control part 3 displays the data, stored in the writable storage part 1b in the storage part 1a, on a display part 2 at a request. An image transmission part is provided instead of an image input part 4 to send and receive data to and from the outside of the vehicle.

A read-only storage unit for reading data of map information stored in advance, an image input unit, a writable storage unit, a display unit, and a control unit for controlling each of these units. An on-vehicle map display device for storing arbitrary information input from an image input unit in the writable storage unit in association with the map information and displaying it on a display unit. 2. An image transmission unit is provided in place of the image input unit, the received data of the image transmission unit is displayed on the display unit, and the data stored in the writable storage unit is transmitted outside the vehicle by the image transmission unit.
