[Detailed description of the invention] [Field of industrial application] The present invention is a tail piece for a tunnel excavator that prevents the intrusion of earth, sand and mud into the underground pipe by creating no gap between the tunnel excavating machine and the buried pipe. It's about King.

Conventional tail packing for tunnel boring machines used to be simply a plate made of rubber or synthetic rubber, and in recent years, metal or synthetic resin strips have been used on the inner surface of an impact-resistant protection plate such as a steel plate. There are brushes or nets that are attached either singly or in a suitable combination in a laminated manner.

However, the first type has poor adaptability to the pipe wall.
It is easy to create cracks and is prone to cracking or tearing as it is used, so it is impossible to expect an excellent packing effect for a long time. On the other hand, the second type has good adaptability to the pipe wall and does not cause cracks, so it can be used for a longer period of time than the first type, but mud and sand can get in between the lines and the mesh of the brush. Since watertightness is achieved by adhering to the pipe, it is inevitable that muddy water and the like will enter the pipe at the beginning of the work.

Therefore, recently a method has been adopted to apply or press sealant secondarily during excavation work during the tailpacking process, which consists of the brushes and nets mentioned above. Doing so not only requires a great deal of labor, but also prevents the sealant from being applied evenly to the entire packing, making it impossible to achieve overall watertightness. It has the great disadvantage of being wasted and being wasted, so it cannot be called an effective means at all.

In order to eliminate all of the conventional disadvantages mentioned above, the present invention solves the disadvantages of the conventional secondary application or injection by retaining the sealant evenly over the entire surface of the net, and also uses a sealant. However, in this case, simply attaching the sealant to the outer surface of the net will reduce the risk of impact and contact with impulses during excavation work, falling earth and sand, muddy water, etc. In order to avoid these effects, a means for retaining the sealant on the inner surface of the net is required.

For the above-mentioned reasons, the present invention involves interposing a viscous uniform layer of sealant between two nets or a plurality of nets made of strong and flexible stainless steel wires, and bonding them in a sandwich-like manner. A unit packing consisting of a viscous sealant evenly retained on the entire inner surface of the net is provided, and these units are made up of multiple layers, each base of which is attached to the inner surface of an impact-resistant protective plate. It is designed to be connected to the periphery of the tail portion of an excavator by appropriately combining it with brush-type packing or rubber packing.

As described above, in this case, a layer of sealant is interposed between multiple nets in advance to create a sandwich-like structure, so the sealant exerts a uniform sealing effect on the entire surface of the net and is resistant to shocks and impulses from the outside. Due to the protective effect of the outer surface of the net and the bonding of the sealant to the net, the shell does not peel off or move, and therefore maintains an effective and uniform watertight effect from the beginning of the work even in deep tunnels for long periods of time. In addition, it eliminates the troublesome work of replenishing sealant to nets, brushes, etc. and the unnecessary leakage of sealant as in the conventional method, so there are no labor or economic disadvantages. This is a simple yet extremely advantageous idea.

It consists of two nets 1 and 1' made of stainless steel metal wires of No. 40 mesh, interposed with an even layer 2 of a viscous sealant made of putty, grease, pigment, etc., and integrally bonded in the form of a sandwich. A net-type unit tail packing P is provided, and the bases of these packings are arranged on the inner surfaces of the inner and outer steel plate shock-resistant protection plates 4, 4' for the inner periphery of the tail part 3 of the tunneling machine, and are attached to the mounting brackets. The outer end of the packing is brought into close contact with the outer periphery of the underground pipe 7 by connecting and tightening the packing with bolts 6 through 5.
