Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the press-fixing working property without reducing the connecting performance between a plug and a jacket by providing a slit between the press-fixing area of a housing and the connecting are of the plug, and forming only the press-fixing area into a C-shaped pipe. CONSTITUTION:A jack 11 connected to a coaxial cord 1 is formed in the state ensuring the continuity between a housing 12 formed into a C-shaped pipe by a slit 12d laid along longitudinal direction and a shield 1c by pressing the press- fixing area of the housing 12 in which a metal pipe 7 is present by a pressing jig not shown. The deforming area of the housing 12 is limited from the slit 12c formed in a depth leaving the thickness of the housing 12 to the C-shaped pipe area on the coaxial cord 1 side. Since the deformation of the housing 12 can be realized with a small press-fixing force, thus, the press-fixing work with less dispersion can be easily performed without reducing the connecting performance with a plug.

In the field of electronic equipment in recent years, the speeding up of signals is progressing in order to increase the processing speed of information, but in the exchange of such high speed signals, a coaxial code is often used to block fine noise. Therefore, there is a strong demand for miniaturization of the coaxial connector corresponding to the cord.

Further, the metal pipe 7 has an inner diameter substantially equal to the outer diameter of the insulator 1b of the coaxial cord 1 and an outer diameter smaller than the hole diameter of the hole 4b of the housing 4. Reference numeral 8 in the drawing denotes a coaxial plug connector (hereinafter referred to as a plug) corresponding to the jack 2, and a plug contact 10a of a plug terminal 10 located on the central axis of a cylindrical metal shell 9.
Is insulated and fixed to the metal shell 9, and the inner surface 9a of the metal shell 9 is a fitting surface with the fitting surface 4a of the housing 4.

Therefore, first, the jacket 1d is peeled off from the end face with an appropriate length, and the exposed shield 1c is floated from the surface of the insulator 1b by a means such as opening the mesh, and the insulator 1b is attached with an appropriate length from the end face. Next, the metal pipe 7 and the terminal holding insulator 6
After passing through the insulator 1b and the core wire 1a, the jack terminal 5 is connected to the tip of the core wire 1a by the method described above. In this state, when the coaxial cord 1 is inserted into the housing 4 from the jack terminal 5 side as indicated by a broken line a, the jack terminal 5 positioned by the inner diameter portion 6a of the terminal holding insulator 6 is inserted into the central axis of the housing 4. Can be set to a predetermined position.

After that, when the shield 1c floated from the insulator 1b of the coaxial cord 1 is pushed into the gap between the metal pipe 7 and the inner wall surface of the housing 4, the state shown in (2-2) can be obtained.

Therefore, using a jig or the like (not shown), the area where the metal pipe 7 is present is surrounded by the arrow b from the periphery of the housing 4.
By pressing the housing 4 and deforming the housing 4 slightly as described above, it is possible to configure the jack 2 which is crimped and fixed to the coaxial cord 1 in a state in which the conduction between the housing 4 and the shield 1c is secured.

Therefore, in the jack 2 having such a structure, since the jack contact 5b region of the jack terminal 5 located inside the housing 4 is located at the free end, a reliable connection with the above-mentioned plug contact 10a is realized. can do.

However, the crimping area of the housing 4 is in the vicinity of the end of the housing 4 having a pipe shape. Therefore, when the coaxial cord 1 is pressure-bonded and fixed, the pressure-bonding force, and thus the deformation amount of the housing 4, tends to vary, and it is difficult to always ensure reliable pressure-bonding.

For example, when the crimping force is too small, the jack 2 is likely to come out of the coaxial cord 1 and the conduction between the two becomes unstable, and when the crimping force is too large, stable conduction can be secured, but the crimping force is secured. In some cases, the deformation distortion of the housing 4 due to the above phenomenon spreads to the whole, and the smooth and reliable connection between the jack contact 5b and the plug contact 10a, that is, the jack 2 and the plug 8 is hindered.

Particularly, in this case, since the deformation of the housing 12 can be realized with a smaller pressure bonding force than in the case of FIG. 2, the pressure bonding work with less variation can be easily performed, and the deformation region of the housing 12 is slit. It is limited to the region from the 12c to the coaxial cord 1 side, that is, the C pipe region, and in the modified region, the insulator of the cord 1 is the same as in the case of FIG.
Since 1b is protected by the metal pipe 7, it does not affect the core wire 1a.

A pipe-shaped member for holding a jack terminal (5) or a plug terminal attached to an end of a core wire (1a) of a coaxial cord (1) at a predetermined position on the central axis near the opening. It is constructed by pressing the crimping area near the opening on the other end side of the housing from its periphery and crimping and fixing the coaxial cord (1) located in the housing while maintaining electrical continuity between the shield (1c) and the housing. A coaxial connector, wherein the pipe-shaped housing is provided between the crimping area for the coaxial cord (1) and the connection area for the coaxial plug connector or the coaxial jack connector where the jack terminal (5) or the plug terminal is located. A slit (1 with a depth that leaves at least the thickness of the housing in the direction transverse to
2c), and (12c) the crimping area separated from the connection area by the slit is formed in a C pipe shape.
