【発明の詳細な説明】
【0001】本発明は、液体の改良された安定化を与え
る圧媒液の添加剤に関する。圧媒液は公知であり、自動
車ブレーキのような種々の機械装置に有効である。その
色は透明、琥珀色、又は薄い褐色である。圧媒液は、特
に高温において酸化しやすいので、種々の抗酸化剤を添
加することが公知である。酸化はこの液体の分子量を低
下させそして腐食性生成物を形成するので望ましくな
い。この腐食性、酸化生成物の作用を制御するためバッ
ファーが加えられる。
【0002】しかし、ある種の問題が存在する。今日に
おいてさえ、圧媒液の安定化は不十分である。現在用い
られている添加剤の多くは数日間のみ有効であり、ある
場合にはわずか数時間である。安定化の欠如はこの液体
の保存に用いられるプラスチック瓶のつぶれにより明ら
かである。たぶん、この作用は、瓶の上部空間の酸素が
液体と反応して形成された部分真空のためであろう。
【0003】従って、安定化は圧媒液における問題であ
るので、現在用いられているものよりも改良された安定
化効果を提供しそして数日もしくは数時間ではなく数カ
月の長期間保護を与える添加剤の組合せを発見すること
が望ましい。そのような組合せは、圧媒液の品質を改良
しそしてプラスチック貯蔵瓶が貯蔵の間つぶれることな
くその形状を保つため圧媒液の魅力を改良する。この問
題の解決が本発明の目的の1つである。
【0004】1種以上の水素化硼素金属及び1種以上の
ブチル化ヒドロキシトルエンの混合物の添加が圧媒液に
優れた安定化効果を与えることがわかった。驚くべきこ
とに、この混合物は、安定化効果が水素化硼素金属のみ
もしくはブチル化ヒドロキシトルエンのみ、又はその組
合せより予想されるより優れているので相乗効果を有す
ることがわかった。本発明の圧媒液組成物は改良された
安定化効果を示し、従って貯蔵の間プラスチック瓶に貯
蔵した液体がつぶれることを防ぐ。従って、本発明の安
定剤の組合せは圧媒液の商業上の魅力を改良する。さら
に、本発明の安定化の組合せは、数カ月、典型的には少
なくとも2カ月間保護を与える。

【0007】本発明において有効な希釈剤は、1種以上
のアルコール、グリコール、グリコールエーテル、又は
これらの混合物を含む。本発明において有効な希釈剤は
典型的には約300 以下の平均分子量を有する。好ましく
は、この希釈剤は一価アルコールもしくは二価アルコー
ル、グリコールモノエーテルもしくはグリコールジエー
テル、及びこれらの混合物を含む。従って、有効な希釈
剤は下式 HO(RO)x H (上式中、Rは約2〜4個の炭素原子を有するジラジカ
ルアルキレン基であり、xは約1〜4の整数である)を
有する。グリコールモノエーテル及びグリコールジエー
テルは下式 R2 〔O−R〕y OR3 (上式中、Rは上記規定と同じであり、R2 は水素又は
1〜約6個の炭素原子を有するアルキル基であり、R3
は水素又は約1〜6個の炭素原子を有するアルキル基で
あり、yは1〜6の整数である)を有する。有効なグリ
コールエーテルの例は、限定するものではないが、エチ
レングリコールモノメチルエーテル、ジエチレングリコ
ールモノメチルエーテル、トリエチレングリコールモノ
メチルエーテル、プロピレングリコールモノメチルエー
テル、ジプロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテル、ト
リプロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテル、ジエチレ
ングリコールモノブチルエーテル、トリエチレングリコ
ールモノブチルエーテル、テトラエチレングリコールモ
ノブチルエーテル、テトラプロピレングリコールモノブ
チルエーテルを含む。
【0008】本発明の滑剤は、ポリグリコール、ヒマシ
油、又はこれらの混合物のような重い液体を含む。通
常、本発明において有効な滑剤は、約350 以上、好まし
くは約400 〜500 の平均分子量を有する。この滑剤は1
種以上の多価アルコールもしくは多価アルコールエーテ
ル、又はこれらの混合物を含んでよい。多価アルコール
の例は、限定するものではないが、ポリオキシエチレン
グリコール及びポリオキシプロピレングリコールのよう
なポリオキシエチレングリコール、ポリオキシエチレン
−ポリオキシプロピレングリコールのような混合ポリオ
キシアルキレングリコールである。多価アルコールエー
テルの例は、限定するものではないが、ポリオキシエチ
レングリコールノニルフェニルエーテル、ポリオキシプ
ロピレングリコールモノ−及びジ−アルキルエーテル、
混合ポリオキシエチレン及びポリオキシプロピレンモノ
アルキル及びジアルキルエーテル、並びにこれらの混合
物を含む。
【0009】本発明において有効な滑剤は通常、酸化抑
制剤、腐食抑制剤、及びアルカリ性バッファーを含む。
有効なアルカリ性バッファーは公知であり、圧媒液のp
Hを約7〜11.5に保つために用いられる。アルカリ性バ
ッファーの例は、限定するものではないが、硼酸ナトリ
ウム及び硼酸カリウムのような金属硼酸塩、オレイン酸
カリウム、ロジンのカリウム石鹸、もしくはタル油脂肪
酸のような脂肪酸のアルカリ金属石鹸、テトラ硼酸カリ
ウムのエチレングリコール縮合体のようなアルカリ金属
硼酸塩とのアルキレングリコール縮合体、モルホリン、
フェニルモルホリン、エタノールアミン、ジエタノール
アミン、トリエタノールアミン、メチルジエタノールア
ミン、ジ-(2-エチルヘキシル)アミン、ジ-N−ブチルア
ミン、モノアミルアミン、ジアミルアミン、ジオクチル
アミン、サリチルモノエタノールアミン、ジ−β−ナフ
チル−p−フェニレンジアミン、ジシクロヘキシルアミ
ンのようなアミン、硼酸モノもしくはジブチルアンモニ
ウムのようなアミン塩、並びにジブチルアミンホスフェ
ートを含む。
【0010】銅、鋳鉄、錫メッキ鉄、黄銅、アルミニウ
ム、及びスチールのような金属の腐食及び酸化分解から
この液体、特に希釈剤を守るため、この組成物に当該分
野において公知の、種々の酸化抑制剤及び腐食抑制剤が
用いられる。この例は、限定するものではないが、重合
したトリメチルジヒドロキノリン、アリール及びアルキ
ル二置換アミン及びジアミン、アミンとジアミンの縮合
体、アリールとアルキル一置換及び二置換アミン及びジ
アミンの縮合体、アントラキノン、ジヒドロキシアント
ラキノン、アルキル化キノン、フェニルベンゼン、ピロ
カテコール、スチレン化フェノール、亜硝酸ナトリウ
ム、硝酸ナトリウム、及び4,4'- イソプロピリデンジフ
ェノールである。
【0011】通常、本発明の組成物は個々の成分を様々
な比で含む。希釈剤は組成物の約50〜90、好ましくは約
75〜90体積パーセント含む。滑剤は組成物の約5〜25体
積パーセント含む。希釈剤及び滑剤は共に組成物の約9
9.5体積パーセント以下、好ましくは約95体積パーセン
ト以下含む。抑制剤の総濃度は組成物の約0.1 〜5重量
パーセント含み、1種以上のアルカリ性バッファーは組
成物の約0.01〜4.0 重量パーセント含み、1種以上の酸
化抑制剤は約0.01〜4.0 重量パーセント含み、そして1
種以上の腐食抑制剤は約0.01〜4.0重量パーセント含
む。
【0012】本発明において有効な水素化硼素金属は、
水素化硼素ナトリウム及びカリウムのような水素化硼素
アルカリ金属塩並びに水素化硼素リチウムのような水素
化硼素アルカリ土類金属塩を含む。好ましい水素化硼素
塩は水素化硼素アルカリ金属塩である。より好ましい実
施態様において、水素化硼素金属塩は水素化硼素ナトリ
ウムである。本発明において用いられる水素化硼素金属
塩の量は、約0.01〜約1.0 重量パーセント、好ましくは
約0.001 〜約0.1 重量パーセントである。
【0013】本発明において有効なブチル化ヒドロキシ
トルエンは、モノブチル化、ジブチル化、及びトリブチ
ル化ヒドロキシトルエンを含み、ジブチル化が好まし
い。ブチル基はn-ブチル、sec-ブチル、イソブチル、te
rt- ブチル、又はこれらの組合せであってよい。好まし
くは、ブチル基はtert- ブチル基である。有効なブチル
化ヒドロキシトルエンの例は、限定するものではない
が、2,6-ジ-tert-ブチルパラヒドロキシトルエンを含
む。最も好ましくは、ブチル化ヒドロキシトルエンは2,
6-ジ-tert-ブチルパラヒドロキシトルエンである。ブチ
ル化ヒドロキシトルエンの量は、組成物の約0.001 〜約
1.0 重量パーセント、好ましくは約0.01〜約1.0 重量パ
ーセントである。
【0014】圧媒液に通常用いられる消泡剤及びゴム膨
潤添加剤のような他の公知の添加剤も本発明の組成物に
混入してよい。本発明の添加剤の組合せは、主に圧媒液
に用いられるが、熱媒液、冷却液、不凍液、及びグリコ
ールエーテル溶媒のような他の機能性液に用いてよい。
【0015】本発明の組成物の製造において、あらゆる
好適な方法を用いてよい。成分は別々に加えてよく、又
は一緒に加えてよい。すべての成分は均一な単一の相の
組成物に混合される。
【0016】本発明の実施態様 以下の例は本発明の説明であって、その範囲を限定する
ものではない。部及びパーセントはすべて、特に示さな
い限り重量基準である。
【0017】液体の製造 75〜90体積パーセントのグリコール及びアルキルグリコ
ールエーテル希釈剤、10〜25体積パーセントのポリグリ
コール滑剤、0.01〜1.0 重量パーセントの腐食抑制剤、
並びに0.01〜1.0 重量パーセントの酸化抑制剤より、グ
リコール及びアルキルグリコールベースの材料液を製造
する。31g のポリエチレンより製造した12オンスの瓶に
この液体を満たす。ホイルライニングしたキャップを瓶
にのせ手で締め、マイクロ波のような公知の包装法によ
りこの瓶を熱シールする。
【0018】テスト法 テストする液体を含むシールした瓶を43.3℃の温度の実
験用オーブンに少なくとも13週間いれる。これは液体の
保存寿命に対する促進エージングテストである。評価の
結果はテスト期間にその形状を保つ瓶の割合で示され
る。この割合が高いほど、結果は良好である。
【0019】 約0.001 〜1.0 重量パーセントの水素化硼素ナトリウム
及び約0.001 〜1.0 重量パーセントの2,6-ジ-tert-ブチ
ルパラヒドロキシトルエンを加えることを除き、上記材
料液体より液体を製造する。上記テスト法により評価す
ると、水素化硼素ナトリウム及び2,6-ジ-tert-ブチルパ
ラヒドロキシトルエンの両方を含む液体は材料液体とく
らべ改良された安定化効果を示す。

Claims (18)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】 約50〜90体積パーセントの1種以上の希
    釈剤、約5〜50体積パーセントの1種以上の滑剤、約0.
    1 〜5.0 重量パーセントの1種以上の抑制剤を有する組
    成物において、 (A)0.001〜1.0 重量パーセントの1種以上のブチル化ヒ
    ドロキシトルエン、及び (B)0.001〜1.0 重量パーセントの1種以上の水素化硼素
    金属 を含む組成物。
  2. 【請求項2】 約0.01〜0.1 重量パーセントの1種以上
    のブチル化ヒドロキシトルエンを含む、請求項1記載の
    組成物。
  3. 【請求項3】 約0.01〜1.0 重量パーセントの1種以上
    の水素化硼素金属を含む、請求項1記載の組成物。
  4. 【請求項4】 ブチル化ヒドロキシトルエンがジブチル
    化ヒドロキシトルエンである、請求項1記載の組成物。
  5. 【請求項5】 ブチル化ヒドロキシトルエンがジ−t−
    ブチルヒドロキシトルエンである、請求項1記載の組成
    物。
  6. 【請求項6】 ブチル化ヒドロキシトルエンが2,6-ジ−
    t−ブチルパラヒドロキシトルエンである、請求項1記
    載の組成物。
  7. 【請求項7】 水素化硼素金属が水素化硼素アルカリ金
    属である、請求項1記載の組成物。
  8. 【請求項8】 水素化硼素金属が水素化硼素ナトリウム
    である、請求項1記載の組成物。
  9. 【請求項9】 ブチル化ヒドロキシトルエンが約0.01〜
    1.0 重量パーセントの量の2,6-ジ−t−ブチルパラヒド
    ロキシトルエンであり、水素化硼素金属が0.001 〜0.1
    重量パーセントの量の水素化硼素ナトリウムである、請
    求項1記載の組成物。
  10. 【請求項10】 1種以上のグリコールベース希釈剤、
    1種以上の滑剤、及び1種以上の抑制剤を有する組成物
    において、 (A)0.001〜1.0 重量パーセントの1種以上のブチル化ヒ
    ドロキシトルエン、及び (B)0.001〜1.0 重量パーセントの1種以上の水素化硼素
    金属 を含む組成物。
  11. 【請求項11】 約0.01〜0.1 重量パーセントの1種以
    上のブチル化ヒドロキシトルエンを含む、請求項10記
    載の組成物。
  12. 【請求項12】 約0.01〜1.0 重量パーセントの1種以
    上の水素化硼素金属を含む、請求項10記載の組成物。
  13. 【請求項13】 ブチル化ヒドロキシトルエンがジブチ
    ル化ヒドロキシトルエンである、請求項10記載の組成
    物。
  14. 【請求項14】 ブチル化ヒドロキシトルエンがジ−t
    −ブチルヒドロキシトルエンである、請求項10記載の
    組成物。
  15. 【請求項15】 ブチル化ヒドロキシトルエンが2,6-ジ
    −t−ブチルパラヒドロキシトルエンである、請求項1
    0記載の組成物。
  16. 【請求項16】 水素化硼素金属が水素化硼素アルカリ
    金属である、請求項10記載の組成物。
  17. 【請求項17】 水素化硼素金属が水素化硼素ナトリウ
    ムである、請求項10記載の組成物。
  18. 【請求項18】 ブチル化ヒドロキシトルエンが約0.01
    〜1.0 重量パーセントの量の2,6-ジ−t−ブチルパラヒ
    ドロキシトルエンであり、水素化硼素金属が0.001 〜0.
    1 重量パーセントの量の水素化硼素ナトリウムである、
