In particular, it is an object of the present invention to provide a magnetic thermosensitive recording paper whose magnetic recording layer can be printed. Conventionally, magnetic thermosensitive recording paper has a magnetic recording layer on the base paper and a thermosensitive recording layer on the other side.
Widely used for train tickets, commuter passes, magnetic tickets, parking tickets, expressway passes, etc. In recent years, it has also come to be used for various types of cards. This can be processed in vending machines due to the large information storage capacity of the magnetic recording layer, the ease and accuracy of reading written information, etc.
This is probably because it enabled labor savings. Other necessary visible information is printed directly on the opposite side of the magnetic recording layer, or by a carbon thermal transfer method, a chelate printing method, or a thermal recording method. The thermal recording method is widely used because of its simple structure, ease of handling, and maintenance. However, conventionally, the magnetic recording layer has been colored with magnetic powder without any consideration for printing, and has been in a selected state. As a result of studying the possibility of printing on the magnetic recording layer, the present invention discovered that even if a water-based pigment coating layer is provided,
They discovered that it does not impede the magnetic properties in any way, and it also has no problem with ticket issuing tests assuming vending machines. That is, the present invention provides a heat-sensitive recording layer by coating one side of a base paper with a heat-sensitive dye whose main components are a color-forming leuco dye, a color developer that causes the color-forming leuco dye to develop color when heated, and an adhesive. The other side of the base paper is coated with magnetic paint whose main components are magnetic powder and adhesive.
A magnetic thermosensitive recording paper characterized in that a magnetic recording layer is provided, and the magnetic recording layer is further coated with a water-based pigment paint containing pigment and adhesive as main components to provide a pigment coating layer. . Hereinafter, technical matters of the present invention will be explained in detail. First, as the base paper, high-quality paper or processed base paper with a basis weight of 40 to 300 g/m 2 can be used, but there is no particular limitation. The magnetic recording layer provided on the base paper is mainly composed of magnetic powder and adhesive, and the magnetic powder is γ-
Iron oxide, γ-iron oxide modified with cobalt, chromium oxide, barium ferrite, etc. can be used. In addition, adhesives include water-soluble adhesives such as polyvinyl alcohol, styrene/butadiene copolymers, methyl methacrylate/butadiene copolymers, styrene/butadiene/methyl methacrylate copolymers, acrylic resins, and vinyl acetate. Latex emulsion, polyurethane resin, vinyl chloride resin, polyester resin, etc. can be used. Magnetic paints containing magnetic powder and adhesive as main components are prepared and provided in either an aqueous system or an organic solvent system, but an aqueous system is more economical and preferable. As the organic solvent, toluene, xylene, butanol, etc. can be used. The magnetic paint thus prepared is coated on a base paper using an air knife coater or the like to form a magnetic recording layer. The present invention is characterized in that the magnetic recording layer provided on the base paper is coated with a water-based pigment paint mainly composed of pigment and adhesive to provide a pigment coating layer and impart printability. That is. The pigments used in the water-based pigment coating prepared when providing the pigment coating layer on the magnetic recording layer include:
clay, calcium carbonate, aluminum hydroxide,
Those commonly used for coating paper such as barium sulfate, satin white, zinc white, alumina zeolite, and plastic pigments may be used. On the other hand, adhesives include water-soluble adhesives such as casein, starch, gelatin, soybean protein, and polyvinyl alcohol, styrene-butadiene copolymers, styrene-butadiene-methyl methacrylate copolymers, acrylic resins, and vinyl acetate resins. A latex emulsion such as polyester resin or a synthetic resin emulsion can be used. Water-based pigment paints using such pigments and adhesives are prepared by thoroughly dispersing them in various mixers commonly used in water-based paper coating methods. At that time, as auxiliary agents, dispersants, lubricants,
Coloring agents, waterproofing agents, antifoaming agents, paint viscosity modifiers, and the like can be appropriately blended. The aqueous pigment coating thus prepared is coated onto the magnetic recording layer provided on the base paper using an air knife coater, blade coater, roll coater, gravure coater, etc. and dried to form a pigment coating layer. Furthermore, in order to smoothen the pigment coating layer, gloss calendering or super calendering treatment can further improve printability and is effective. The pigment coating layer must not deteriorate the magnetic properties of the magnetic recording layer, and the amount of water-based pigment coating cannot be increased too much. The coating amount is 4 to 80 g/cm 2 , preferably 8 to 60 g/m 2
No deterioration in magnetic properties was observed at all. The other side of the base paper provided with the magnetic recording layer and the pigment coating layer is coated with a heat-sensitive dye whose main components are a color-forming leuco dye, a color developer that causes the color-forming leuco dye to develop color when heated, and an adhesive. The magnetic thermosensitive recording paper of the present invention can be obtained by applying a coating and providing a thermosensitive recording layer. The color-forming leuco dye, color developer, and adhesive of the heat-sensitive recording layer can be appropriately selected from those commonly used in the production of heat-sensitive recording paper. Further, the same applies to other auxiliary agents in preparing the heat-sensitive paint. A protective layer may be provided on the heat-sensitive recording layer as necessary to impart plasticizer resistance, chemical resistance, etc., thereby achieving a certain effect. Since the magnetic thermosensitive recording paper of the present invention has a pigment coating layer on the magnetic recording layer, it is possible to hide the coloration of the magnetic recording layer of conventional products, and a beautiful appearance can be obtained. Then, it is possible to print on the magnetic recording layer, and the amount of recorded information can be increased. Furthermore, the magnetic properties of the magnetic recording layer are not affected at all, and it is possible to obtain a magnetic thermosensitive recording paper that is suitable for issuing tickets. Further, the present invention will be explained by examples.
