Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a detergent for degreasing which is excellent in qualities and replaces the conventional fluorocarbon and chlorine-base solvents by compounding specified alcohols and fatty acid esters. CONSTITUTION:A detergent for degreasing comprising 3 to 4C alcohols and fatty acid esters. The detergent has good degreasing performance and finish comparable with those of the conventional fluorocarbon and chlorine-base solvents and does not destruct ozone. Further, the conventional apparatus for cleaning can be used substantially as they are, since the detergent can readily be recovered by boiling or distillation by the use of a washing machine and a distiller which have been used for the recovery of the conventional fluorocarbon and chlorine-base solvents. In addition, water rinse for removing the detergent from the washed article is not necessary in working steps, since it has a low boiling point and thus the washed article is ready to dry. Accordingly, there is no possibility of polluting water environment with waste water.

C. Conventional technology] Traditionally, in metal parts processing industries such as machinery and automobile industries,
In the manufacturing process, various oils such as cutting oil, processing oil,
Many hydrocarbon oils such as press oil and grease are used, and since these adhere to various parts (objects to be washed), they are washed and removed as appropriate. Freon 1 has traditionally been used as a solvent to wash and remove these oils and greases.
13 or chlorinated solvents such as methyl chloroform and trichloroethylene have been used. These solvents have a high ability to dissolve oil and grease and are nonflammable, so they are used in a wide range of industrial fields, such as for degreasing and cleaning metals, developing dry films for printed circuit boards, and the like.

The present inventors have discovered that Freon 113 used in degreasing detergents
As a result of repeated research into cleaning agents that can replace chlorinated solvents such as methylchloroform and trichloroethylene, we have found that
A composition containing one or more types of alcohols (4) and fatty acid esters as essential components has a high degreasing property comparable to conventional degreasing detergents (chlorofluorocarbon 113 and chlorinated solvents such as methyl chloroform and trichloroethylene). It was discovered that the cleaning agent exhibits good performance and finish quality, and based on this knowledge, the present invention was developed.

The combination of essential components in the present invention can be arbitrarily changed depending on the material and form of the object to be washed, the type of dirt, etc. Among the essential components, if alcohol is missing, fatty acid esters will have too strong of an odor, which is a problem when using them, and will be extremely difficult to tolerate in practice, making them unsuitable as cleaning agents. On the other hand, when fatty acid esters are lacking, the degreasing ability decreases.
