Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable an indoor device to be easily installed in a ceiling casing or a floor casing by a method wherein when an air conditioning operation is carried out with the indoor device being in an inverted state with its upper part and lower part upside-down, drain is dropped onto a second drain pan, passes through a drain guide pipe and drops onto a third drain pan and thereafter the drain is discharged out of a room. CONSTITUTION:When a blower 7 is started to operate with an indoor device being installed within a floor casing, indoor air is sucked through a suction port 10 to pass through a heat exchanger 8, thereby the air is cooled or heated, then the air passes within the blower 7 and is blown from a blowing port 11 into a room. Dew adhered to a heat exchanger 8 is dropped into a first drain pan 13 and discharged out of a room by a drain pipe. When the indoor device is installed within a ceiling casing while it is in its reversed state, dew adhered to the heat exchanger 8 is dropped into a second drain pan 14 for a so-called inverse fixing state, passes through a drain guide pipe 17. The dew is further dropped into a third drain pan 15 for a discharging installed state and then is discharged out of a room through a drain pipe fixed to an outer end fitting 15b.
