(Description of Prior Art) Snap buttons have been widely used as fasteners for clothing and the like. A snap button generally consists of a stud member having a round head with a bulged tip, a male snap that is comprised of a mounting member for fixing the stud member to the fabric, and elastically engaged with the round head of the male snap. A female snap is used as a set, comprising a socket member having resilient engagement means and a mounting member for fixing the socket member to another fabric.

However, as shown in FIG. 1, in such conventional snap buttons, the respective attachment members on both the male and female snap sides penetrate the fabric and engage with the respective annular flange portions of the stud member or the socket member. The structure is said to be The fabric is thus positioned between the flange portion of the attachment member and the annular flange portion of the stud or socket member. Therefore, in conventional snap buttons, the gap h 1 (see Figure 1) between the mounting fabrics is large when both the female and male snaps are engaged, and when they are disengaged, the gap between the female and male snaps is large. The metal parts on the engaging side, ie, the stud member and the socket member, are exposed in their entirety on, for example, the top front back side of the fabric and the bottom front side of the fabric, which generally tends to spoil the appearance of the fabric.

(Objective and Summary of the Invention) The object of the present invention is to eliminate the drawbacks of the conventional snap buttons as described above, and to enable the female and male snaps to approach each other to the same extent as when they are sewn together with a sewn button. To provide a snap button which improves the appearance of the snap button when the two are disengaged by minimizing the exposed metal portion of the mounting fabric on the side where the female and male snaps engage when disengaged. .

According to the present invention, a round head or elastic engagement means is formed in the center, and a fabric stretched in an axial direction opposite to the round head or elastic engagement means is formed on the peripheral edge thereof. a first member made of a thin metal plate having a plurality of prongs spaced apart in the circumferential direction for penetrating; and an annular portion into which the plurality of prongs of the first member can engage, and facing the plurality of prongs. an annular part having a flange part that can come into contact with the fabric is formed at its peripheral edge, and a second member having an opening or no opening in the center, and the peripheral edge of the first member is There is provided a snap button characterized in that when the first member and the second member are combined, the snap button is positioned radially inward from the outer peripheral portion of the annular portion of the second member. When attaching the first member to the fabric, the first member is arranged with a plurality of prongs facing the fabric, and the second member is attached to the fabric.
A member is placed on the opposite side of the fabric such that the annular portion of the second member is aligned with the plurality of prongs of the first member. Next, the first member is pressed so that the plurality of prongs penetrate the fabric and engage the annular portion of the second member, and the first member and the second member are fixed with the fabric sandwiched between them by subsequent caulking. Ru.
With such a structure and fixation, the snap of the present invention can hold the fabric in the axial direction more forward than in conventional similar snaps, that is, in the direction of the round head of the first member or the resilient engagement means, so that when the snap is engaged, The fabrics become closer to each other, and the first when the snaps disengage.
The exposed portion of the member is reduced.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT Please refer to FIGS. 2-5. The first member of the snap of the present invention is shown as stud member 8 in FIG. The stud member 8 has a round head 16 in its central portion which may have a conventional shape, and a curved surface 20 that is integrally formed from the bottom of the round head 16 and rises radially outwardly has a peripheral edge 20'. A plurality of downwardly extending prongs 12 are circumferentially spaced apart. Preferably, the plurality of prongs 12 have their respective central portions 22 bulged radially inward to improve rigidity. In FIG. 4, the first member of the snap of the present invention is illustrated as a socket member 9. The socket member 9 is provided with a resilient engagement means capable of engaging with the round head 16 of the stud member 8 in its central portion, and a curved portion that is integrally formed from the bottom of the resilient engagement means and rises outward in the radial direction. Peripheral edge 2 of surface 21
1' has a plurality of downwardly extending prongs 14 spaced apart in the circumferential direction. As in the stud member 8, each central portion 23 is bulged radially outward in order to improve rigidity.

In FIG. 7, the second member of the snap of the present invention is illustrated as a ring member 7, and a sectional view thereof is shown in the upper part of FIG. The ring member 7 has an annular portion 13 formed at its periphery into which the plurality of prongs of the first member can engage, and a flange portion 24 which can come into contact with the fabric on the side opposite to the plurality of prongs of the annular portion 13. It is formed. On the other hand, in FIG. 8, the second member of the snap according to the present invention is illustrated as a cap member 10, the cross section of which is shown in the lower part of FIG. Like the ring member, the cap member has an annular portion 15 formed on its peripheral edge into which the plurality of prongs of the first member can engage, and a flange portion 2 on the side opposite to the plurality of prongs that can abut against the fabric.
5 is formed.

When attaching to the fabric, first the first member, that is, the stud member 7 or the socket member 9, and the second member, that is, the ring member 7 or the cap member 1.
The prongs 12 or 14 of the first member and the flange portion of the annular portion 13 or 15 of the second member are opposed to each other and aligned. The first member is then pressed against the fabric and the plurality of prongs penetrate the fabric and engage the annular portion of the second member. Subsequent pressing of the first member causes the first and second members to be caulked and fixed to the fabric with the plurality of prongs engaged within the annular portion.

(Function and Effect) FIG. 6 shows the state of engagement between the male snap consisting of the stud member 8 and the ring member 7 fixed to the fabric as described above, and the female snap consisting of the socket member 9 and the cap member 10. Illustrated. In this state, the fabric sandwiched between the members of the female and male snaps is held closer to each other around the snaps than in conventional snaps, as shown. By positioning the peripheral edge portion of the first member radially inwardly than the outer peripheral portion of the annular portion of the second member in a state where the first member and the second member are combined, the fabric When the first member and the second member are caulked together with the
The fabric is pulled toward the second member by the base of the round head formed in the center of the first member, and at the same time is pushed up toward the first member by the flange of the second member, As a result, when the snap is disengaged, only the radially inner portion of the curved surface 20 or 21 of the first member is exposed on the first member side of the fabric. The exposed metal parts are less noticeable and the appearance is improved.
