[Problems to be solved by the invention] However, since the sealing member 9 is made of a rubber material, it is soft, and the terminal 3 is eccentric, making it impossible to maintain the insulation distance between the metal tube 5 and the terminal 3, and the withstand voltage is low. This was a cause of defects.

In addition, in this sheathed heater, in order to increase the packing density of the inorganic electrical insulating material 7, the metal tube 5 is stretched from the outer periphery using rolls, but at this time, the sealing member 9 may sink inward into the metal tube 5. There is a problem in that the terminal 3 is pulled inward of the metal tube 5, making it impossible to obtain a specified length of the terminal 5 protruding from the metal tube 5.

Furthermore, if terminal 3 is repeatedly eccentric, terminal 3,
Since a gap is created between each of the metal tube 5 and the sealing member 9, there is a problem that the inorganic electrical insulating material 7 inside the metal tube 5 flows out to the outside.

[Means for solving the problem] According to the present invention, a heating wire and terminals connected to both ends of the heating wire are connected in the axial direction of the metal tube through an inorganic electrical insulating material. A sheathed heater that is filled and fixed and has the terminal protruding from the inside to the outside of the metal tube, and a cylindrical sealing member that is sealed in a space between the inner end surface of the metal tube and the terminal, The sealing member has a hole passing through the terminal in the axial direction, and a tapered side circumferential surface that comes into contact with the inner end surface of the metal tube, and the sealing member has a large diameter end surface to the one end surface. There is obtained a sealing member for a sheathed heater characterized in that a groove is formed radially toward the other end surface having a smaller diameter and extending over the hole and the side circumferential surface.

[Function] When the sealing member for the sheathed heater is press-fitted into both ends of the sheathed heater, the radial grooves of the sealing member are pressed and narrowed by the metal tubes, firmly sandwiching the terminals.
A force is constantly applied in the direction between the inner surface of the metal tube and the side peripheral surface of the terminal.
