The present invention relates to a herbicidal composition, and more particularly, it is characterized by containing a specific carbamate derivative and N-(α,α-dimethylbenzyl)-2-bromo-3,3-dimethylbutyramide as active ingredients. The present invention relates to a herbicide composition with excellent herbicidal effects. Although a large number of herbicides for rice cultivation have already been developed, there is still strong market demand for improved performance, safety, and reduction of chemical damage. In addition, a characteristic of rice field weeds is that many of them do not occur at the same time and occur over a long period of time.
The growth status of weeds at the time of herbicide application is usually a mixture of various stages of growth, from pre-germination to those with a certain degree of growth. The present inventors have conducted intensive research in order to develop a herbicide that can sufficiently control weeds ranging from pre-germination to weeds that have advanced to some extent by simply spraying a low dose of the herbicide. In the course of this research, the present inventors discovered that a specific carbamate derivative has high herbicidal activity and is highly selective, showing no phytotoxicity to paddy rice, and has a long residual period. It was discovered that it has excellent characteristics as a herbicide. When this particular carbamate derivative is used alone as a herbicide for paddy fields, it is highly effective against weeds such as field weeds, Japanese snails, Japanese grass weeds, and Japanese grasshoppers at the pre-emergence stage, and is also effective against fireflies and the like. A major feature of this drug is that it has a herbicidal effect on wild grasses, even those that have grown to a certain extent after germination, and that it does not cause any chemical damage to transplanted paddy rice. however,
The herbicidal effect is not sufficient against some perennial weeds during the weed growing season. On the other hand, N-(α,α-dimethylbenzyl)-2-
When bromo-3,3-dimethylbutyramide is used alone as a herbicide for paddy fields, it is extremely effective against firefly and Japanese snail when treated before and immediately after the emergence of weeds, and it is also effective against weeds, grasshoppers,
It is also effective against Kikashigusa, Water cyperus, etc. Furthermore, it is highly safe for paddy rice, and is highly useful as a herbicide for paddy fields. However, once the weeds have grown to a certain extent, the weeding effect becomes weaker. In particular, the weeding effect is insufficient against growing grasshoppers. The present inventors have conducted further intensive research with the goal of developing a herbicide composition that eliminates the drawbacks of the specific carbamate derivatives mentioned above without impairing their action characteristics, and that can completely control many weeds. As a result, specific carbamate derivatives and N-
(α,α-dimethylbenzyl)-2-bromo-3,
The present invention was completed based on the discovery that by mixing and applying 3-dimethylbutyramide in an appropriate ratio, the shortcomings of both drugs were not only compensated for, but also an extremely significant synergistic effect that far exceeded expectations appeared. I came to the conclusion. That is, the present invention is based on the general formula: (wherein, 6-naphthyl group, 1,4,-ethano-1,2,3,4,-tetrahydro-6-naphthyl group or phenyl group, Y represents an oxygen atom or sulfur atom, and Z represents a lower alkyl group. ,
W represents a phenyl group or a pyridyl group which may have one or two same or different substituents selected from a halogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower alkoxy group, a lower alkylamino group and a trifluoromethyl group. . However, when X is phenyl, X is a halogen atom, a lower alkyl group,
Having 1 to 3 same or different substituents selected from a lower alkenyl group, a lower alkoxy group, a lower alkenyloxy group, a lower alkynyloxy group, a lower alkylthio group, an acyl group, a nitro group, and a trifluoromethyl group . Further, when X is a phenyl group and Y is an oxygen atom, W is not a phenyl group. One or two carbamate derivatives represented by
species or more, and N-(α,α-dimethylbenzyl)-2
-bromo-3,3-dimethylbutyramide as an active ingredient. The proportion of each active ingredient in the herbicidal composition of the present invention is not particularly limited, and an excellent synergistic effect can be obtained in a wide range of compounding ratios, but preferably with respect to 1 part by weight of the specific carbamate derivative represented by the above general formula. N-(α,α-dimethylbenzyl)-2-bromo-
Approximately 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of 3,3-dimethylbutyramide is suitable. When the herbicidal composition of the present invention is actually used, one or more specific carbamate derivatives represented by the above general formula and N-(α,α-
A suitable amount of each of dimethylbenzyl)-2-bromo-3,3-dimethylbutyramide is mixed with an inert carrier to form a wettable powder, which is a common form of pesticide use.
It can be formulated and used in the form of emulsions, granules, powders, etc. Solid inert carriers include talc,
clay, kaolin, diatomaceous earth, bentonite,
Acid clay, white carbon, pumice powder, etc. can be mentioned, and liquid inert carriers include water, alcohol, benzene, toluene, xylene, kerosene, cyclohexane, cyclohexanone, isophorone, butyl cellosolve, benzyl acetate, dimethylformamide, mineral oil, etc. can be given. In addition, if necessary for the formulation, surfactants, spreading agents,
The certainty of herbicidal efficacy can also be increased by adding adjuvants used in agricultural chemicals, such as binders, or stabilizers. Furthermore, the herbicide composition of the present invention may contain an insecticide, a fungicide, a plant growth regulator, a fertilizer, or other herbicides as necessary, and may also be used in combination with these. . When preparing the herbicide composition of the present invention, the amount of each active ingredient to be added should be determined based on the application situation, application time, application method,
Although it varies depending on the target grass species, etc., the specific carbamate derivative represented by the above general formula generally has 1
The amount of active ingredient per unit is 1 to 100 g, preferably 2 to 50 g, and N-(α,α-dimethylbenzyl)-2-bromo-3,3-dimethylbutyramide is generally 1 to 100 g. Preferably 2-50
A range of g is appropriate. Specific examples of the specific carbamate derivative represented by the above general formula, which is one of the active ingredients according to the present invention, are shown below. It goes without saying that the specific carbamate derivatives according to the present invention are not limited to the compounds of this specific example. ある。[Table] As is clear from Tables 1 and 2, the herbicidal power of the herbicidal composition of the present invention is significantly enhanced compared to when each active ingredient is applied alone. This is based on the synergistic action between each active ingredient,
It is recognized that there is a significant synergistic effect. In other words, the greatest feature of the herbicide composition of the present invention is that a high herbicidal effect on many weeds can be obtained by combining low dosages that could not be expected from the herbicidal effect of each active ingredient alone. I can give what I can. In addition, the herbicide composition of the present invention exhibits remarkable herbicidal activity not only against weeds at the early stage of growth but also against weeds at a certain stage of advanced growth. One of its excellent features is that it has a wide range of suitable treatment periods throughout the growing season. Furthermore, there are many types of weeds that can be controlled, and a remarkable herbicidal effect has been observed on annual weeds such as field weed, Japanese cypress, and Japanese cypress, as well as perennial weeds such as firefly and Japanese cypress. In addition, it does not cause any chemical damage to transplanted paddy rice, and has a very high utility value as a highly safe and highly selective herbicide. Furthermore, since each active ingredient has a long residual effect, it exhibits high herbicidal activity over a long period of time and can control many weeds, making it a great contribution to reducing spraying labor and, in other words, labor saving in agricultural work. As described above, the herbicidal composition of the present invention has many excellent features and is highly practical.
