本願はデイーゼルエンジン等に用いられる燃料

車輌用のデイーゼルエンジン等では燃料タンク
とエンジンの燃料ポンプとの間に水分離装置を配
設して、燃料中に含まれる水分を分離除去するよ
うにしている。そして水分離装置で分離された水
は燃料との比重差により容器底部に溜るが、水位
が所定レベル以上になると装置の出口から燃料と
ともにエンジンに送られてしまい燃料ポンプ等を
腐食させる。そこで水分離装置内の水位を検出す
る手段を講じて水位が所定レベルに達すると排出
バルブを開き排出するようにしている。この手段
は容器底部に報知器へつながる電極を設け、金属
製の容器を他方の電極として、水による両電極間
の導通により報知器を作動させるようにしたもの
である。

ブ9が設けられる。このような水分離装置におい
て燃料は入口1から入り分離体5を通過しガイド
11に沿つて流れ、さらにガイド11下端で反転
上昇し出口2からエンジン等へ供給される。燃料
が分離体5を通過するとき燃料中に含まれる水分
が分離され、ガイド11に沿つて流れながら徐々
に凝集成長して容器6底部に溜る。そして容器6
底部に溜つた水の水位が上昇し上方電極12の下
端に達すると容器6下端の上方電極8と導通状態
となり報知器が作動する。その報知により容器6

極12さらにガイド11が腐食され、水位検知機
能の低下や不能となる現象を生じ、エンジン等へ
の水の吸入によるトラブルを生ぜしめる。

いる。上方電極30の大径パイプ32の外面には
ねじ山を有している。上方電極30は分離体25
を介して前記アダプタ20の下面中央のねじ孔2
4に螺着される。アダプタ20の下端面には樹脂
製でコツプ状の容器26が袋ナツト27により取
付けられる。容器26の底部には報知器に接続さ
れる下方電極28および水を排出する排出バルブ

いずれも腐食することがなく、水位検出機能の低
下や不能を起すことがない。従つて水の機関内へ
の吸入によるトラブルを防止することができる。
さらにガイドと小径パイプとが一体構造になつて
いるので、アダプタへの取付けが容易となりしか
も確実に取付き、従つて導通不良等も起さない。
また上部電極のガイド部分も導電性樹脂で形成さ
れているので、この部分も腐食されることなく、
しかも傾斜時等において電極の役目をはたすこよ
ができる。
