(Prior Art) In diesel engines for vehicles, a water separation device is usually installed in the middle of the pipeline connecting the fuel tank and the feed pump to remove water contained in the fuel. As seen in Utility Model Publication No. 45-66, this type of device houses a filter element inside a filter case consisting of an upper cover, a body, and a lower cover, and positive and negative electrodes are arranged side by side on one side of the lower side of the filter case. , one electrode is connected to the base of the transistor, the other electrode is connected to the battery through a resistor, and the collector of the transistor is connected to the electrode side of the battery through a relay, while
The emitter is connected to the ground side of the battery, and the base current of the transistor is changed in proportion to the size of the opposing area of the part of the pair of electrodes that is corroded by the water accumulated in the filter case. When the water level is low, the relay will not operate and the solenoid valve for water discharge will remain closed, and when the water level reaches a certain level, the relay will operate and open the solenoid valve.
A device is known that drains water that has accumulated inside the case.

(Problem to be solved by the invention) By the way, in the above-mentioned conventional water separation device, the relay and solenoid valve are opened and closed depending on the size of the facing area of the part where the two electrodes are immersed in water. Therefore, the two electrodes must be placed facing each other at a height that allows them to be immersed in water, which is inconvenient because there is little freedom in design.
Even if the electrodes are placed side by side or separated on the periphery near the case wall, they must be placed facing each other at the same height, and if the water surface is tilted due to the tilt of the car body, normal detection will not be possible. A problem occurs.

Therefore, this invention provides a water separation device that has fewer restrictions on the position of the electrodes and can reliably detect the state of a water puddle without being affected by the slope of the water surface even with short electrodes.

(Means for Solving the Problems) Based on the above purpose, this invention was developed as a water separation device by attaching a lower electrode to the bottom of a cup-shaped container made of synthetic resin, and having an inlet and an outlet at the upper end of the container. It is attached to a metal adapter, a funnel-shaped guide is attached to the lower side of the boss portion of this adapter, and a plurality of upper electrodes are attached to the lower part of this funnel-shaped guide.

Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of this invention, in which 1 is a cup-shaped container with a required volume made of synthetic resin such as nylon or polypropylene, and a short lower electrode 7 is placed in the center of the bottom. A plug 10 attached so as to be exposed is fixed, and a discharge pot 11 is provided on the side thereof, and a cap nut 1 made of the same synthetic resin is attached to the collar 1a on the upper edge.
2 are rotatably engaged, and the container 1 is removably connected to the adapter 2 by this cap nut 12 in abutting state, and the adapter 2 is made of conductive metal and has an inlet on one side. The pipe P 1 is connected to the upper part of the boss portion 2 a in which the central through hole 2 c is formed, and the outlet pipe P 2 is connected to the upper part of the boss portion 2 a.
A small-diameter neck part 2b extending into the container 1 is formed on the lower side of the boss part 2a, and a disk-shaped wire mesh 4 and a funnel-shaped guide 5 are overlapped and clipped onto the neck part 2b. , an upper electrode 13 made of a conductive metal piece of a required length is attached to the lower peripheral edge of the funnel-shaped guide 5.
Several are installed vertically.

Therefore, when the lower electrode 7 is energized and fuel is sent into the container 1 from the inlet pipe P 1 , the fuel passes through the wire mesh 4 and over the surface of the guide 5 , and then reverses and flows into the center hole 2 c of the adapter 2 . When the water contained in the fuel enters the container 1 from the inlet pipe P1 , it suddenly expands, the flow rate decreases, it condenses, and grows into particles, and the water contained in the fuel flows out from the wire mesh 4. As it passes through, it becomes larger and further condenses and grows as it flows along the guide 5, gradually accumulates in the container 1, and when it reaches a certain height, that is, the lower end of the upper electrode 13 attached to the funnel-shaped guide 5, the lower part The resistance between the electrode 7 and the upper electrode 13 decreases and becomes energized, and the guide 5 and the wire mesh 4
The alarm circuit is closed via the adapter 2, and the alarm in the driver's cabin is activated to notify the driver that a certain amount of water has accumulated in the container 1. At this time, even if the moisture is tilted due to the tilt of the vehicle body, the current is connected to one of the electrodes 13 at the lower part of the guide, and the circuit is closed.

Note that the upper electrode 13 attached to the funnel-shaped guide 5
The electrode 7 is not limited to a plate piece as shown in FIG. 2, but may be a bent strip as shown in FIG. The setting position 7 may be on the side instead of the center of the bottom.

(Effects of the invention) As described above, in this invention, one electrode is attached to the bottom of the funnel-shaped guide, which is an interior part, and the other electrode is attached to the bottom of the container, so that a certain level of water puddle is maintained depending on the vertical relationship. Since the electrode is designed to detect
There is freedom in design, and since one upper electrode is provided at multiple positions below the guide, the state of the puddle can be reliably detected without being affected by the slope of the water surface.
