Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the strength of ground by pushedly inserting the closed end of a flexible hose into the ground by means of a pushing member, and by forcibly filling lightweight granular bodies into the hose from the open end on the ground side to form a reinforcing pile. CONSTITUTION:One end of a flexible hose 1 is coveringly joined on the hose- fitting surface 23 of an end cone 2 so as to be closed, and one end of a pushing member 3 is abutted on the pressing surface 22 of the cone 2, and a pressing force is added on the other end of the member 3 so that the hose 1 is pressedly installed inside the poor subsoil 4. Then, the member 3 is drawn out, and light- weight granular bodies 6 are forcibly filled into the hose 1 by pneumatic pressure from an open end 11. Thereafter, granular bodies 6 are filled over the entire length of the hose 1, and the open end 11 is closed in such a condition that the hose 1 has been expanded in the outer circumferential direction, and then the hose is installed in a pile state up to a prescribed depth. Thus, the hose is closedly brought into contact with the subsoil 4 by the expansion pressure, so that the subsoil can be reinforced.
