A squelch device comprising: a signal strength detection type squelch that performs a squelch operation; and switching means that switches between the two squelches. (2) The squelch device according to claim 1, further comprising a setting means for setting the operating point of the squelch based on a scale of a signal strength indicating meter. (3) The squelch device according to claim 1, wherein the setting of the squelch operating point in the setting means is performed by operating a rotary encoder for selecting a frequency.
