At 02, the parts other than the peripheral edge of the plate glass G are weighed by their own weight,
It is bent into a predetermined shape by inertia force or by pressing with the upper die 103.

1 is raised so that the plate glass G on the press roll 100 is received on the lower mold 101. Therefore, when the lower mold 101 is raised, the lower mold 100 is raised so that the press roll 100 and the lower mold 101 do not interfere with each other. A recess 104 is formed in the width direction of the mold 101, and the press roll 101 is accommodated within this recess 104.

It will be done. However, in this case, both ends of the press roll 100 come into contact with a central portion of the glass plate G, and there is a possibility that distortion may occur in the glass plate at this contact portion.

The ends of the recess for storage were made so as not to touch the peripheral edge of the upper surface of the mold, and both ends of the press roll were tapered.

Furthermore, recesses 3 are formed in the mold 1 so as not to cover the peripheral edge 1a of the upper surface. The longitudinal direction of this recess 3 is perpendicular to the conveying direction of the plate glass, and a press roll 4 whose axis is also perpendicular to the conveying direction of the plate glass is accommodated in the recess 3. This press roll 4 is connected to a frame 5 provided below the mold 1 as shown in FIG.
This frame 5 is raised and lowered by a cylinder unit (not shown). By the operation of the cylinder unit, the press roll 4 protrudes above the upper surface of the mold 1 and is housed in the recess 3 as shown in FIG.

becomes one continuous molding surface.

ある。 FIG. 3 is an enlarged view of the end of the press roll 4, and the end 4a of the press roll 4 has a tapered shape. This is because in the present invention, the entire circumference of the peripheral edge 1a of the mold 1 is used as the molding surface, so the press roll 4 is shortened, and as a result, the end of the press roll 4 comes into contact with the central part of the glass plate G. As a result, there is a risk that distortion may occur in the central portion of the glass plate G that has been transported, and in order to avoid this, the glass plate G is tapered. A suitable taper angle for avoiding distortion is about 5°.

Then, due to its own weight or inertial force when the mold 1 rises, the plate glass G is moved by the ring mold 6 and the molding surfaces 1a and 1b of the mold 1.
The lower surface of the upper surface 7, the ring mold 6, and the mold 1 are bent as shown in FIG.
It is press-molded between the molding surfaces 1a and 1b.

In this state, oscillation is performed. By operating the device, the ring mold 6 is rotated back and forth, left and right, or within a horizontal plane, and the upper mold 7 is placed on the surface of the plate glass G.
Cooling air is evenly blown from the cooling air blowing holes 2 of the mold 1 to rapidly cool and strengthen the plate glass G.

In addition, since both ends of the press roll are tapered, optical distortion such as highlights will not occur at the periphery of the glass plate, and furthermore, there will be no distortion in the center of the glass plate due to contact with the press roll. Never occurs.
