Abstract

PURPOSE:To surely prevent seizure between an upper jig and a lower jig and to subject ceramics and a metal to hot joining in high accuracy by forming engaging faces of spigot engaged part of the upper jig and the lower jig made of ceramics. CONSTITUTION:A jig for hot joining which is used for producing parts for sodium-sulfur cells wherein an anode fitment 2 and a cathode fitment 3 composed of an aluminum alloy are bonded to a ceramic ring 1 by hot joining and consists of an upper jig 4 and a lower jig 5. One or both of engaged faces 4a and 5a of engaged parts of the upper jig 4 and the lower jig 5 are made of ceramics. Since the jig for hot joining has the above-mentioned constitution, occurrence of seizure is surely prevented even if clearance of the engaged faces 4a and 5a is reduced and engaging accuracy between the upper jig 4 and the lower jig 5 can be improved up to the utmost limits. Consequently, joined products of ceramics and metal having the same degree of parallization and vertical degree as those of designed values can be obtained.

However, in conventional thermo-pressure welding jigs made of low-expansion metals of this type, if a solder fitting is used to increase the joining accuracy and the clearance is set to 0.1 mm or less, problems occur during thermo-pressure welding. There was a problem in that the upper jig and the lower jig could not be separated because the fitting portion of the plunger was burned due to heating. On the other hand, if the clearance of the fitting part of the stamping ring is designed to be larger than 0.1 mm in order to prevent seizure, the precision of parallelism, perpendicularity, etc. of the resulting product will deteriorate, making it impossible to assemble a sodium-sulfur battery. In addition, there were problems such as poor welding during assembly, which significantly reduced the durability of the battery.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] The present invention solves the above-mentioned problems of the conventional technology, and even if the clearance between the dowel fitting portion of the upper jig and the lower jig is reduced to 0.1 mm or less, This was completed with the aim of providing a jig for thermo-pressure welding that can reliably prevent seizure between the upper jig and the lower jig and that can accurately join ceramics and metals by heat-pressure. .

[0007] Fitting surface 4a of the upper jig and fitting surface 5a of the lower jig.
The clearance Cr must satisfy the relationship Cr≦H×L/D depending on the allowable parallelism H of the object to be processed. D: Maximum diameter L of the part where the parallelism of the object to be processed is evaluated:
Length of the dowel fitting portion where the fitting surface 4a of the upper jig and the fitting surface 5a of the lower jig are in contact. For sodium-sulfur batteries, this parallelism is particularly severe and a small clearance is required. Here, when the material of the upper jig 4 and the lower jig 5 is alumina, the clearance between the fitting surface 4a of the upper jig and the fitting surface 5a of the lower jig is 30
Even with a diameter of μm, high-precision thermopressure bonding was achieved with no burning in the joint portion. Furthermore, when similar thermopressure bonding was carried out using silicon nitride instead of alumina, there was no seizure in the jointed area even with a clearance of 20 μm, and the workability was excellent. The above-mentioned alumina and silicon nitride are preferable because they are not only low expansion materials but also have excellent strength and wear resistance, so that they can be used as a jig for thermo-pressure welding for a long period of time and are practical. Furthermore, the sodium-sulfur battery parts obtained by thermopressure bonding under the above clearance exhibited excellent performance with no defects on the bonded surface.

As described above, in addition to increasing the joining accuracy by reducing the clearance between the fitting portion of the upper jig 4 and the lower jig 5 as much as possible, it is possible to improve the uniformity and characteristics of the joint strength, etc. of the joint surfaces. To improve this, extremely high precision is required in the allowable temperature range during thermopressure bonding. In practice, in order to obtain highly reliable thermopressure bonding, it is necessary that the temperature distribution within the workpiece during thermopressure welding is uniform, and in addition, the heating and cooling curves of the workpiece as the temperature increases and decreases. It is also necessary for the upper jig 4 and the lower jig 5 to follow closely. For example, the upper jig 4 and the lower jig 5 each have a product Cp×ρ of their specific heat Cp and density ρ of 0.7 cal/cm3°C or less, and the heat emissivity ε of the jig is 0.5. When made of the following materials, the temperature difference within the workpiece during thermopressure bonding is within 7°C, and within this temperature difference range, the bonding strength is extremely excellent as a part for sodium-sulfur batteries. ,
This is preferable because a practically reliable thermopressure bonding having uniformity, dimensional accuracy, etc. can be obtained. Further, in the case of a jig for thermo-pressure welding having the above-mentioned relationship, it is possible to follow the temperature rise/temperature-fall curve during thermo-pressure welding well, which is preferable. In addition,
When alumina was used for the upper jig 4 and lower jig 5, the temperature difference within the workpiece was 5°C, and when silicon nitride was used, it was 2°C, both within the preferred temperature difference range. .

The upper jig 4 and the lower jig 5 are not limited to alumina or silicon nitride, but other ceramics such as silicon carbide can also be used. In addition, the upper jig 4 and the lower jig 5 are both made of ceramics as in the embodiment, or only one of them is made of ceramics and the other is made of a low-expansion metal such as nickel or nickel alloy. You can also use it as Further, as shown in FIG. 2, the upper jig 4 may be entirely made of a low-expansion metal and a ceramic coating layer may be formed so that at least the fitting surface 4a thereof is made of ceramics, or a third As shown in the figure, the entire lower jig 5 may be made of a low-expansion metal, and a ceramic coating layer may be formed so that at least the fitting surface 5a thereof is made of ceramic.

[Operation] The device constructed as described above has a workpiece interposed between the upper jig 4 and the lower jig 5, and both jigs are moved up and down, similar to the conventional jig for thermocompression welding of this type. Clamp in the direction 5
In the present invention, the upper jig 4 and the lower jig 5 are provided with a fitting surface 4a of the dowel fitting portion to improve the fitting precision of both. 5a, and either or both of the fitting surfaces 4a, 5a are made of ceramics, so
Even if the clearance between the fitting surfaces 4a and 5a is reduced, the occurrence of seizure can be reliably prevented, and the fitting accuracy between the upper jig 4 and the lower jig 5 can be improved to the utmost. As a result, an extremely precise ceramic-metal bonded product with parallelism, perpendicularity, etc. as designed values can be obtained, and there will be no assembly defects in subsequent sodium-sulfur batteries. Furthermore, the life span of the obtained battery is greatly improved, and high quality sodium-sulfur batteries can be efficiently produced.

[Effects] As is clear from the above explanation, in the present invention, even if the fitting portion of the upper jig and the lower jig is a high-precision dowel fitting, it is possible to prevent seizure from occurring at the fitting portion. It is possible to reliably prevent this, and it is also possible to accurately thermopressure bond ceramics and metals.Furthermore, it is possible to connect ceramics and metals with a durable material with excellent mechanical strength. Since it is made of a certain ceramic, it also has the advantage of being able to be used repeatedly and exhibiting excellent economic efficiency. Therefore, the present invention greatly contributes to the development of industry as a jig for thermo-pressure welding that eliminates the problems of the prior art.
