[Prior Art] A conventional humidity sensor is assembled by attaching a separately prepared humidity sensing element, a temperature compensation thermistor, and a connector onto a wiring board by soldering, etc., and housing the humidity sensing element in a breathable case. However, due to the large number of parts and soldering points, it was inevitably large and heavy.

As part of the solution to these problems, attempts have been made to reduce the size of the temperature-compensating thermistor by printing and baking it directly onto the wiring board (for example, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 110041/1983). However, with this method, the resistance value of the thermistor varied and the defect rate was high, and the heat resistance and humidity resistance were not sufficient, leading to concerns about long-term stability, making it unsuitable for practical use as a humidity sensor. .

In the humidity sensor of the present invention, if a method of covering the moisture-sensitive thin film with a moisture-permeable protective film is adopted as a means for protecting the humidity-sensing element portion, durability can be improved with almost no change in thickness. This has the advantage of being able to provide ventilation, and safety can be further improved by attaching a cover with ventilation holes. Furthermore, by arranging the pair of thin layer electrodes on the insulating substrate in a comb shape so that their teeth mesh with each other, it is possible to further reduce the size of the moisture sensing element section.

Further, as the temperature compensating thermistor used in the humidity sensor of the present invention, a thermistor of an appropriate shape such as a lead type thermistor or a chip type thermistor can be selected, but any small type with uniform characteristics can be selected. It does not matter what form it takes.

[Operation] The humidity sensor of the present invention includes a humidity sensing element that absorbs or releases moisture in response to changes in humidity in the atmosphere, and whose electrical resistance changes accordingly, and a separately manufactured temperature compensation thermistor. Since they are combined, a stable output corresponding to humidity can be obtained, and a highly accurate relative humidity measurement value can be obtained. In addition, it is small, and the humidity sensing element and thermistor are placed close to each other, making it possible to accurately measure local humidity.

Embodiments Examples of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. In FIG. 1, 1 is an alumina substrate, on which comb-shaped electrodes 2a, 2b and electrode connection parts 4a, 4 for soldering are attached.
b and 4c are formed by printing, and the electrode 2a is electrically connected to the electrode connection part 4a, and the electrode 2b is electrically connected to the electrode connection part 4b. The distance between the electrode connecting parts 4a and 4c is approximately the same length as the distance between both terminals of the temperature compensation lead type thermistor 5, and thermistor terminal lead wires 5a and 5b are soldered to the electrode connecting parts 4a and 4c, respectively. It has been done. The electrode connecting portions 4a, 4b, and 4c are each provided with a through hole that communicates with a connector fitting hole provided in the substrate 1, and the connector terminals 6a, 6b, and 6c are fitted into these holes and soldered. be. The soldering part of the thermistor terminal lead wire 5a and the through hole of the soldering part of the connector terminal 6a are located in the same electrode connection part 4a and are provided close to each other, so that the soldering work can be done only once at the same time. It is now possible. This also applies to the electrode connection portion 4c on the opposite side.

After assembling as described above, a moisture-sensitive polymer paint is applied to cover the upper surfaces of the comb-shaped electrodes 2a and 2b on the insulating substrate 1 to form a moisture-sensitive thin film 3. By providing the covering protective film 7, the humidity sensor of the present invention is obtained. Furthermore, a cover 8 provided with ventilation holes is attached to this, resulting in a product as shown in FIG. 2. Further, a circuit diagram of the humidity sensor of the present invention is shown in FIG.

[Effects of the Invention] The humidity sensor of the present invention has a humidity sensing element formed by laminating a thin layer electrode and a humidity sensitive thin film on an insulating substrate.
Since the temperature compensating thermistor and the connector terminal are directly attached to the board, the number of parts is small, which not only saves on materials and assembly man-hours, but also makes it highly reliable, small and lightweight.
