Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent rain water or the like from entering into a heat exchanging device (an outdoor device) and to facilitate a repairing and a maintenance of internal electrical component parts in the heat exchanging device of an air conditioner by a method wherein a complete partition is set between a chamber of the heat exchanger and a chamber of a compressor. CONSTITUTION:A partition plate 4 placed between a chamber 2 of a heat exchanger and a chamber 3 of a compressor is provided with a recess 22. A radiation plate 28 is disposed at the chamber of the heat exchanger. Some electrical component parts 30 are disposed at a chamber of a compressor. A relay 25 having an engaging part 27 to be engaged with a recess 22 of a partition plate is disposed between the radiation plate 28 and the electrical component parts 30. The radiation plate 28 becomes a part of the partition plate so as to accomplish a complete partition for bath chambers. In addition, a thermal radiation effect is promoted by a blower 6 within the heat exchanger. The engaging part 27 is removably attached, so that the internal electrical component parts can be easily repaired and maintained.

In this embodiment, the relay panel 25 is L-shaped, and the vertical surfaces 26a and 26b are first cooled by the heat sink 28. Therefore, components that generate a lot of heat are arranged on the vertical surface 26b. Next, since the cooling is also transmitted to the other L-shaped vertical surface 29 of the relay panel, it is desirable to place electrical components and circuit boards close to the vertical surface 29 as well. Therefore, it is desirable to use a metallic material with high thermal conductivity for the relay panel.
