It is. The performance that a cutting fluid used for such a purpose should have is primary performance to achieve the above-mentioned purpose, and secondary performance such as preventing the cutting fluid from rotting and rusting.

Water-soluble cutting fluids contain mineral oils, fats and oils, extreme pressure additives, surfactants, antifoaming agents, metal anticorrosives, antioxidants, antiseptic and antifungal agents, etc. depending on the purpose. Produced by mixing appropriately. Water-soluble cutting fluids are usually diluted 10 to 100 times with water before use, but because they are inferior to water-insoluble types in terms of performance, they are particularly useful for cutting stainless steel and other steel materials that have poor machinability. , a water-insoluble oil agent is used.

All of them contain mineral oil, fats and oils, fatty acids, extreme pressure additives, surfactants, alkanolamines, inorganic alkalis, polyols, glycols, organic inhibitors, preservatives and fungicides, copper alloy anticorrosives, antifoaming agents, water, etc. These are mixed appropriately depending on the purpose.JIS
Although the proportions of the compositional components are different between the W1 type and the JIS W2 type, the types of compositional components are the same. The following table shows an overview of the stock solution composition of conventional water-soluble cutting fluids. ("Cutting fluids and grinding fluids": Saiwai Shobo, published June 1, 1980, p. 131) Composition of the stock solution of water-soluble cutting fluids In water-soluble cutting fluids, as extreme pressure additives, they are used in the same way as in water-insoluble cutting fluids. Chlorine-based extreme pressure additives, sulfur-based extreme pressure additives, and phosphorus-based extreme pressure additives are used.

The content of the sulfur-based extreme pressure additive is suitably in the range of 0.5 to 30% by weight in the cutting fluid composition stock solution. The reason for this is that if the content of the sulfur-based extreme pressure additive is less than 0.5% by weight, the effect of suppressing tool wear cannot be obtained when using a diluted solution, and even if the content exceeds 30% by weight, This is because the effect remains unchanged.

The reason for this is that if the alkaline earth metal sulfonate content is less than 1% by weight, sufficient tool wear suppression effect cannot be obtained when using a water-diluted oil solution, and if the content is less than 30% by weight, This is because even if the amount is exceeded, the effect does not change, and the stability of the water diluted oil solution deteriorates on the contrary.

If the content of alkaline earth metal soap is less than 1% by weight, sufficient tool wear suppression effect cannot be obtained when using a water-diluted oil solution, and even if the content exceeds 30% by weight, the effect will not be obtained. This is because the stability of the water-diluted solution of the oil agent decreases on the contrary.
