置制御方法としては、特開昭51−20047号や、特
開昭58−74213号、或いは本出願人の開示による
特開昭58−107217号等の技術が開示されている
。 特開昭51−20047号は、圧上圧延機の下流に設け
た尾端検出器から巻取機までの長さが既知であることか
ら、押えロールで巻取り長さをカウントすることにより
、尾端を所望位置に停止制御させるというものである。 又、特開昭58−74213号は、ラッパロール(ブロ
ッカロール)で巻取機に現に巻取られた状態の尾端を検
出し、これと、巻取機のマンドレルの回転角度情報とか
ら尾端を所望位置に停止させるというものである。この
ラッパロールはストリップ先端部の巻き付きを補助する
ために設けられているもので、通常ストリップの尾端部
においてもストリップのばたつきを防止するために用い
られる。尾端がラッパロールの当接部を通過すると、ラ
ッパロールに厨撃が加わるため、該尾端のコイル上の位
置を検出できる。 特開昭58−107217号は、ストリップの尾端位置
を仕上げスタンドの下流に設けた尾端検出器で検出する
と共に、該尾端検出装置から巻取機における所定の尾端
停止位置までのストリップ長さを用い、巻取りコイル径
を板厚及び占積率から求めた上で巻取機のマンドレル回
転数を予測制御して所定の尾端停止位置で巻取機(のマ
ンドレル)を停止させるというものである。 [発明が解決しようとする課題] しかしながら、前記特開昭51−20047号では、ロ
ール径の変化に伴う1′8長の変化による誤差が大きく
なり、結果として停止位置の誤差が大ぎくなるという問
題があった。 又、特開昭58−74213号では、巻取り時の振動等
により尾端通過の判定が困難であるという問題があった
。即ち、巻取機に現に巻取られた状態の尾端を正確に検
出するにはラッパロールのコイル径変化に対する追随性
や感度を高めなければならないが、追随性や感度を高め
ると巻取詩の振動等の影響を受は易くなり、誤判定をし
易くなるという問題があったものである。更には、又、
巻取機にストリップが完全に巻取られてから尾端の検出
を行う関係上、巻取機が停止するまでの時間の延長に繋
がる等の問題もあった。 一方、特開昭58−107217号の方法は、比較的良
好な結果は得られるものの、この方法においても、なお
、コイル径情報の誤差が停止位置の誤差を誘引するとい
う問題があった。即ちコイル径を求めるための情報とし
て、設定板厚及び設定占積率を用いていたため、どうし
ても計算値と実績との誤差が避けられないという問題が
あった。
