その駆動源に対して離接する方向に直線運動を行
うようにされた移動体の直線運動を、ボールネジ
機構により回転型エンコーダの回転軸の回転運動
に変換し、その回転型エンコーダによつて前記移
動体の基準位置からの移動量を検出して、その位
置を検出する装置であつて、前記移動体および駆
動源のいずれか一方に前記ボールネジ機構のナツ
トを固定するとともに、いずれか他方に前記ナツ
トに螺合しているネジ軸を回転自在にかつ移動体
の移動方向と平行に設けて、そのネジ軸の一端に
前記回転型エンコーダの回転軸を連結してなり、
前記移動体が移動したときに、前記ネジ軸および
前記エンコーダ軸が前記ナツトにより回転させら
れつつそのナツトに対して相対的に移動するよう
