As the schematic structure of this type of show case is shown in Fig. 1, inside a box-shaped heat insulating wall 1 with a large front opening, inner panels 2 which also serve as an inner box are provided at regular intervals, and the bottom A ventilation passage 3 is formed from the front to the ceiling through the back. This ventilation passage 3 is provided with a cooler 4 connected to a refrigerator circuit and a motor fan 5 for ventilation circulation. The air sucked in from the suction port 6 is cooled by the cooler 4, and then blown out from the air outlet 7 at the top of the front face to the front opening by the rectifier 8, forming a low-temperature air curtain that flows toward the suction port 6 as shown by the arrow. be done. In this way, the cold air is circulated, the inside and outside of the show case are thermally isolated, and the products placed on the bottom display space 9 and the product display shelves 10 are cooled. 30

By the way, in this type of case,
For example, the number of displayed products increases or decreases depending on the season, and when the number of displayed products is to be reduced, the product display shelf 10 is replaced with one that is shorter in the longitudinal direction. However, such a method simply reduces the product display area, and the size of the cooling space determined by the inner panel 2 and the air curtain remains unchanged. This is undesirable because energy for cooling is wasted even in spaces that do not need to be cooled.

This invention involves assembling inner panels at regular intervals inside a box-shaped insulating wall with a large front opening to form a ventilation duct for circulating cold air from the bottom to the back and up to the ceiling. A front duct consisting of a front insulation wall and a front inner panel is attached to the front end of the insulation wall and the front end of the inner panel on the bottom side, so that an air curtain is formed from the front end of the ceiling toward the upper end of the front duct. In the open show case, an extension duct having an opening cross-sectional area approximately the same as the opening cross-sectional area of the duct in the ceiling is formed by a ceiling insulation wall and a panel in the ceiling, and the extension duct is fitted into the duct in the ceiling from its front end. It is characterized in that it is slidable in the front-rear direction, and the front duct is assembled to the front end of the bottom part with a hinge or the like, so that it can be freely tilted in the front-rear direction.

This show case connects the air curtain suction port 6 and a part of the ventilation path duct connected thereto, that is, the front duct 100, along the front insulating wall 11 and this inner wall side of the surrounding wall forming the bottom display space 9. By assembling this front duct 100 to the bottom front end of the inner panel 2 and the bottom front end of the heat insulating wall 1 using a hinge or the like, the front duct 100 can be moved in the front-rear direction. It can be folded up and down freely. Such a structure has already been proposed by the applicant of the present invention (Japanese Patent Publication No. 58-7905)
The detailed explanation will be omitted.

On the other hand, a part of the ventilation passage duct having the outlet 7 equipped with the rectifier 8, that is, the extension duct 2
00 is formed by a ceiling heat insulating wall 12 and an inner ceiling panel 22 running along the inner wall side. The extension duct 200 has an opening cross-sectional area comparable to the opening cross-sectional area of the ventilation duct in the ceiling, and is fitted from the front end side of the ventilation duct in the ceiling. can be slid forward and backward. Such a structure uses a sufficiently long ceiling insulation wall 12 in the front and back direction,
It may be possible to fix it with a bolt or the like at a predetermined slide position. The same applies to the ceiling inner panel 22, but fixing with bolts or the like may be omitted.

The size of the side plate attached to the side end of the front heat insulating wall 11 may be set so that it extends to the maximum protrusion position of the front heat insulating wall 11 shown by the two-dot chain line in the figure. The same applies to the ceiling side.

The product display shelves 10 can be changed arbitrarily from a maximum length L nax to a minimum length L nio according to an increase or decrease in the amount displayed. Of course, the front end of the product display shelf 10 may also be made so that it can be pulled out and pushed into the shelf body, thereby saving the effort of replacing the product display shelf.

With such a structure, in order to maximize the display area, the front duct 100 is folded down to position A in the figure, and the extension duct 200 is pulled out to position A.
The product display shelf 10 is also replaced with one whose front end extends to position A'. At this time, the air curtain is formed as shown by the two-dot chain line in the figure. Further, in order to minimize the display area, the front duct 100 and the extension duct 200 are placed at the B position, and the product display shelf 10 is also made such that its front end is long enough to reach the B' position. In this state of minimum display area, the air curtain is formed as shown by the solid line. As is clear from this, in the present invention, when the display area is reduced, the cooling space is also significantly reduced, and as a result, the operating time of the cooler 4, that is, the refrigerator circuit, is also significantly reduced. Therefore, cooling energy is significantly reduced.

In the embodiments, an open show case with the simplest structure has been exemplified and explained, but it goes without saying that the present invention can be applied to all types of open show cases, including those with multilayer air curtains.

As explained above, according to the present invention, the display area can be changed freely and the area occupied by the display case can be reduced as the size of the display case is reduced, and the energy required for cooling can be kept to the minimum necessary, resulting in a significant increase in the display area. Energy saving can be achieved.
