Then, the bent portion is formed by press bending or the like, so that it conforms to the curved surface of the automobile body.

As a result, the resin portion 1 and the insert 2 tend to be easily separated from each other because they are repeatedly subjected to shear stress due to the difference.

Because the bending deformation is significantly larger, the neutral plane of the bending deformation moves closer to the insert 2, and as a result, the amount of deformation of the surface portion of the resin part 1 becomes larger, or the both sides 1b of the resin part 1 located at the bending part The side molding tends to bulge outward, making the appearance of the side molding unsightly.

The restoring force increases due to the internal stress. Also,
When subjected to repeated heat cycles of high and low temperatures, resin portion 1 and insert 2 tend to separate from each other due to shear stress in resin portion 1 and insert 2. Then, there is a possibility that it will partially peel off and the appearance will be deformed. Furthermore, the volume of the resin part increases, and the weight increases accordingly, resulting in wasted resources.

うとしても、構造的に対応が困難であつた。 In addition, if a synthetic resin bumper for an automobile is entirely injection molded as in the technology disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 58-23729, it will be placed away from the vehicle body and undergo repeated heat cycles of high and low temperatures under the usage environment. Even when exposed to heat, the shear stress due to the difference in linear expansion coefficient between the resin part and the insert is small and does not affect the external appearance, so structural measures such as providing ribs on the inside of synthetic resin bumpers for automobiles This makes it possible to restrain changes in the overall shape due to heat cycles. However, even when this technology was applied to relatively thin side moldings for automobile bodies, it was structurally difficult.

It is held together inseparably and can be used even under severe temperature conditions or as an ornament for automobiles that requires complicated bending.

Its cross-sectional structure is approximately the same as that of the conventional side molding shown in FIG. That is, the central portion 1a of the resin portion 1 is raised and protrudes, and its surface is decorated. Similarly, a metal insert 2 with a raised central portion is buried in the back surface of the resin part 1 with the back surface exposed, and the both sides 2a of the insert 2 are buried in the both sides 1b of the resin part 1. It is embedded up to. The reinforcing ribs 3 are rib-like parts with a constant width that connect the sides 1b of the back surface of the resin part 1 and wrap around the back surface of the insert 2. In this embodiment, the width is 5 mm, and the distance between adjacent reinforcing ribs 3 is
It is 10mm. These specifications are determined by the cross-sectional shape and overall shape of the side molding, the radius of bending, the application site, the material of the resin part 1, and the usage environment. In the region where the reinforcing rib 3 connects both sides 1b of the resin part 1, the insert 2 is completely embedded in the resin part 1 and the reinforcing rib 3, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3.

As described in the prior art, the bent portion can be formed by press bending. At this time, the spacing and width of the reinforcing ribs 3 may be determined depending on the radius of bending of the bent portion of the resin portion 1, the cross-sectional shape, the overall shape, the application site, the material of the resin portion 1, and the usage environment.

Since the reinforcing ribs 3 enclosing a part of the insert 2 are connected in a substantially vertical direction and have a predetermined pitch between them, the reinforcing ribs 3 restrain bending in the longitudinal direction. There's nothing to do.

Shear stress generated at the boundary also makes it difficult to peel off. Further, even if the resin part 1 and the insert 2 are peeled off, there is no danger that the resin part 1 and the insert 2 will be separated. In addition, even if press bending is required, the reinforcing ribs 3 work to prevent deformation at the bending part of the resin part 1, reduce deformation of the surface of the resin part 1, and prevent peeling between the resin part 1 and the insert 2. can be prevented.

Moreover, by providing a reinforcing rib that embraces a part of the insert, the integrity of the resin part and the insert is improved and peeling is prevented even when the temperature changes in the usage environment or during press bending during deformation. It can be prevented. Furthermore, since the reinforcing ribs partially embrace the insert, the appearance of the side molding for an automobile body does not become unsightly even with repeated environmental temperature changes. In addition, since the entire back surface of the synthetic resin molding is not buried in synthetic resin, even if the integrity of the resin part and the insert is improved as described above and the bending strength line etc. is strengthened, the weight will not increase much. It is very resource-saving.
