<Conventional technology> Recently, from the viewpoint of ease of assembly, sealability, and weight reduction (thinner wall thickness), an adhesive layer is formed on the outer periphery of the window panel where the weather strip body is to be joined, and this window panel is A method has been proposed in which an annular weather strip body is integrally bonded to the outer periphery of a window plate by setting it in a mold, injecting an elastic polymer material into the formed cavity, and curing it (Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. (See No. 100022, 1983). The window plate is a glass plate or a metal plate, and the polymer elastic material is a rubber material such as EPDM or CR, or a thermoplastic elastomer material such as PVC polyolefin.

Here, the adhesive used for the adhesive layer is usually a thermosetting type such as polyurethane type or epoxy type that can obtain good adhesion between the glass or metal plate and the polymeric elastic material. I was using it. After applying these adhesives to the outer periphery of the window plate, they were precured and the material was injected into the cavity formed by setting the window plate in a mold.

<Problems to be Solved by the Invention> However, in the above method, if the pre-curing of the adhesive is insufficient, the adhesive layer near the gate where the material flow is particularly strong during material injection will wash away, and the adhesive will deteriorate. When the precuring of the adhesive is excessive, the activity of the adhesive is lost, and in either case, it is difficult to obtain sufficient adhesion between the window panel and the weatherstrip body.

Although it is conceivable to use a hot-melt adhesive in the above method, in this case as well, it is presumed that the adhesive layer will be washed away due to the flow of the material and its heat during material injection.

An adhesive layer is formed on the outer periphery of the window plate, this window plate is set in a mold, and an elastic polymer material is injected into the formed cavity and cured, thereby forming an annular shape around the outer periphery of the window plate. In the method of integrally molding the weather strip main body, at least the formation of an adhesive layer on the outer periphery of the window plate facing the material injection port of the cavity is performed by sandwiching an adhesive-impregnated cloth between the outer periphery of the window plate. It is characterized by doing.

First, an adhesive layer 3 is formed on the outer periphery of the window plate 1 where the weather strip body is to be joined. The adhesive layer 3 is formed by applying an adhesive or by bending an adhesive-impregnated cloth 5 into a U-shape and sandwiching it around the outer periphery of the window plate. In the illustrated example, the adhesive-impregnated cloth 5 is held between only the side A of the window plate closest to the gate 6 when set in the mold, that is, the window facing the material injection port (gate 6) of the cavity. Although only the outer periphery of the plate was used,
It may be formed all around, or it may be formed in spots. Normally, when the adhesive is of a thermosetting type, the adhesive is precured after the adhesive-impregnated cloth 5 is held. At this time, as the adhesive, a hot melt adhesive whose base polymer is a thermoplastic resin such as polyamide, polyester, or EVA, or a rubber-based solution adhesive may be used, but in the case of the former, preliminary curing is not required. In the latter case, only forced evaporation of the solvent is sufficient. Furthermore, the outer periphery of the window plate 1 may be treated with a primer in advance.

The base cloth for the adhesive-impregnated cloth is not particularly limited as long as it is not affected by adhesive solvents and has a certain degree of heat resistance, such as polyamide, etc.
Examples include woven fabrics or nonwoven fabrics made of polyester fibers, glass fibers, etc.

Next, the window plate 1 with the adhesive layer 3 formed thereon is set in the molds 7 and 8, and an elastic polymer material is injected into the formed cavity 9 by injection or transfer and hardened. At the time of material injection, even if the thermosetting adhesive is not sufficiently precured or is a hot melt adhesive, in this embodiment, the adhesive layer on the side A of the window panel closest to the gate 6 3 is formed by supporting the adhesive with the adhesive-impregnated cloth 5 which holds the outer periphery of the window panel, so that the adhesive layer 3 will not be washed away due to material flow during injection. The adhesive layer 3 on the other window panel sides B and C is similar to the conventional one.
Although it is formed by applying an adhesive, since this part is far from the gate 6, the flow of the material is weak and there is no risk of it being washed away.

<Operations and Effects of the Invention> As described above, the method for forming a weather strip with a window plate of the present invention involves forming an adhesive layer on the outer periphery (side) of the window plate, and setting the window plate in a mold. In this method, an annular weather strip body is integrally bonded to the outer periphery of a window plate by injecting an elastic polymer material into the formed cavity and curing the material, in which an adhesive-impregnated cloth is attached to the outer periphery of the window plate. By sandwiching and forming the adhesive layer, the adhesive layer is reliably prevented from being washed away when the material is injected, since it is supported by the cloth that pinches the outer periphery of the window panel. Therefore, the adhesive layer can be uniformly interposed over the entire circumference between the window panel and the weather strip main body, and good adhesion can be achieved between the two.
