Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of wrinkles on the outer surface of a skin body, and thereby facilitate processing by housing and holding the skin body in a metal mold after a core material larger than the skin body in length has been inserted into the skin body which is formed into a cylindrical shape in advance, and thereby injecting a resin material into the inside of the skin body from the open end of the skin body so as to be molded. CONSTITUTION:A skin member 1 composed of vinyl leather, cloth and the like to which a sponge material 2 is adhered, is formed into a skin body 3 so as to be rolled up, the lapped section 4 of it is fixed in such a way that it is formed into a cylindrical shape by means of thermal susion, seam welding and the like so that a metallic core member 5 formed in a specified shape is inserted into the inside of the skin body 3. Since the core member 5 is of continuous length, the end sections 6 of it are protruded out of the both ends of the skin body 3. In the second place, the skin body 3 combined with the core member 5 is housed in the lower mold 9 of a metal mold 8, an upper mold 14 is piled up on the lower mold 9, then, a weakly fused resin material is injected into the inside of the skin body 3 through the injection hole 15 of a gate block 12. After the resin material 18 has hardened, an assist grip A is thereby taken out with the upper mold 14 opened.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, the conventional assist grip manufacturing method has a problem in that wrinkles occur when the skin material 22 is wrapped around the core material 20, which impairs the appearance. Furthermore, after the skin material 22 is wrapped around the core material 20, the overlapping portion 23 must be sewn or heat welded.
This has the problem of poor workability and a large number of man-hours.

When the resin material is injected into the interior of the working cylindrical skin body, the skin body expands radially outward, so that wrinkles do not occur on the outer surface of the skin body. Furthermore, since the skin body is previously formed into a cylindrical shape, processing of the skin body is facilitated.

That is, in this embodiment, first, as shown in FIG. 1(a), a sheet-like skin is formed by pasting a sponge material 2 on a skin material 1 of a predetermined size made of vinyl leather such as vinyl chloride resin, cloth, or the like. Let it be body 3. Next, as shown in FIG. 1(b), the skin body 3 is rolled up and the overlapping portions 4 are fixed by heat welding or stitching to form the skin body 3 into a cylindrical shape. Subsequently, as shown in FIG. 1(c), a metal core material 5, which is separately formed into a predetermined shape by pressing or the like, is inserted into the cylindrical skin body 3.

At this time, the core material 5 can be held at a predetermined position in the mold 8 by engaging its positioning hole 7 with the protrusion 11 of the positioning part 10 of the lower mold 9. FIG. 3 shows a perspective view of the positioning part IO of the lower mold 9, and the tip of the gate block 12 attached to the lower mold 9 so as to be movable up and down may slightly enter the inside of the skin body 3. Next, as shown in FIG. 4, the upper mold 14 is placed on the lower mold 9. As a result, the gate block 12 is pushed down by the upper die 14, and its injection hole 15 communicates with the runner 16 (see FIG. 3) formed in the lower die 9. Then, a molten resin material such as vinyl chloride resin is injected into the skin body 3 through the injection hole 15 of the gate block 12 . still,
A needle 17 is provided inside the mold 8, and the needle 17 prevents the skin body 3 from shifting.

Effects of the Invention As described above, in the present invention, since the skin body is formed into a cylindrical shape in advance, it is possible to easily process the skin body, which has been a particular problem in the past, thereby reducing the number of processing steps. Production efficiency can be improved. In addition, since the skin and core are combined and housed and held inside the mold, and then resin material is injected into the skin and molded, there is no wrinkles on the outer surface of the skin, resulting in excellent appearance quality. Assist grip can be provided.
