Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject fabric excellent in durability by alternately arranging cation-modified polyester yarns combined with electrically conductive fiber therein and cation-nonmodified pile yarns at a specified interval in a pile fabric backed with an electrically conductive backing material. CONSTITUTION:In an upholstery fabric 13 in which a backing material 12 containing an electrically conductive material is backed or laminated to the back side of a woven or knitted pile fabric 11, pile yarn rows 14 containing 5-50wt.% combined electrically conductive fiber 16 in part or all of cation- modified polyester filament pile yarn rows 14 and noncation pile yarn rows 15 containing cation-nonmodified polyester filament yarns as pile yarns are alternately arranged at intervals (A) and (B) of <=30mm so that the combined electrically conductive fiber 16 may account for 0.5-10wt.% of the whole piles of the total cation pile yarns rows 14 and the noncation pile yarn rows 15. An interval (G) in which electrically conductive pile yarn rows 17 of the aforementioned combined cation-modified yarns are alternated is regulated to <=30mm to afford the objective antistatic automotive upholstery fabric excellent both in durability and in beautiful appearance with good hand.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [Field of Industrial Application] The present invention relates to an antistatic automobile chair upholstery. [Prior Art] As antistatic automobile chair upholstery, there is a known material in which a conductive backing material is laminated on a pile fabric consisting of conductive fiber-containing pile yarn and conductive fiber-containing base yarn. There is (Jitsukai Sho 60-40497).

As is well known, carbon fibers are significantly less adhesive than ordinary organic fibers, and are used in the form of long continuous filaments rather than stable fibers to prevent them from slipping off the upholstery. When it is mixed with polyester fiber filament and used for pile yarn, it is black and has no dyeability, and the effective amount used is small, less than 10% by weight of the total pile yarn, making it difficult to use as a pile yarn. Furthermore, due to the difficulty of blending the fibers, the conductive filament yarns made by blending the fibers are expensive, so they are used in sections at regular intervals, and as a result, the carbon plow fibers used are Dust appears as if finely adhered to the surface, making the appearance of the chair upholstery dirty and unsightly.

In that case, the area ratio of the cationic pile series 14 to the entire pile surface should be 50% or less, preferably 20% or less, and the remaining 50% or more, preferably 80% or more, should be the non-cationic pile series 15. When the pile fabric 11 is to be machined with a warp ma, the reed guide is moved in the width direction (horizontal direction), and the cation... pile series 1
4 and the non-cationic pile series 15 should preferably appear on the pile surface in a fine checkered pattern or marbling pattern. [Effects of the Invention] The modified polyester filament yarn that has been modified to have cationic properties is dyed more deeply than the ordinary polyester filament yarn that has not been modified to have cationic properties. Therefore, in the chair upholstery 13 according to the present invention, the cationic pile series 14 are dyed in a darker color than the non-cationic pile series 15 during the dyeing process, and the conductive fibers 16 are dyed in different shades in that way. It is camouflaged by the ground pattern of the cationic pile series 14 and the non-cationic pile series 15 which are interposed in the dark-colored cationic pile series 14 in the pile and alternate with a spacing of 30 cm or less. In this way, the cationic pile series 14 is commonly used to camouflage a small amount of conductive fibers 16 that look like black, dusty birch. This should account for 5 to 20% of the total amount. Due to the camouflage effect of the cationic pile series 14, the conductive fibers 16 have a concentration of 50% by weight in one pile yarn.
Even if it is used in a very limited area where it is less than 10% by weight, it will not be noticeable from the pile surface and the entire pile surface will be beautifully dyed, and it will be interposed at intervals like this. Therefore, the entire pile surface should be made resistant to static electricity. In addition, non-cationically modified ordinary polyester fibers commonly used for automobile chair upholstery are other synthetic Fs. It is difficult to dye the fibers in a darker color than the fibers, and in order to dye the fibers in a darker color, a treatment such as coating the fiber surface with a resin with a low refractive index such as a fluororesin is required. In this case, the conductive fibers 14, which exhibit a black color together with the cation-modified polyester fibers that are dyed deeply, are uniformly dispersed over the entire pile surface, so the entire pile surface has a deep color and is excellent in durability. It is possible to obtain antistatic automobile chair upholstery as a polyester fiber product with a good texture.
