Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent e optical axis from shifting by arranging a lens for coupling between the rear end part of a 1st optical fiber and the tip end part of a 2nd optical fiber on the same optical axis, interposing a glass plate between them, and fixing the glass plate to a flat type package airtightly. CONSTITUTION:On the bottom part of the package 4, a photosemiconductor element 1, a 1st lens 2 for coupling, and an optical fiber holding member 5 which holds the tip part of a 1st optical fiber 3 are fixed on the optical axis respectively. Further, the glass plate 8 for holding airtightness is fixed to the side wall part 10 of the package 4 with glass solder, etc., and the rear end part of the 1st optical fiber 3 and the tip end part of a 2nd optical fiber 9 are arranged across this glass plate 8 through the 2nd coupling lens 6 and a 3rd coupling lens 7 while their optical axes are aligned with each other. 底部に固定される構造となっているため、光モジュール
の使用環境温度の変化や、光モジュールを取付けるパネ
ル等から伝わる外力によって光モジュールのパッケージ
が変形し、同一軸上にあるへき光ファイバと結合用レン
ズの位置関係がずれ、光軸ずれか発生し易いという欠点
かある。

定したことを特徴とする。

ファイバの先端と第1の結合用レンズ及び光半導体素子
の間の位置関係に影響せず、光軸ずれを発生しない効果
がある。さらにガラス板によって気密が保持できる効果
がある。
