Abstract

PURPOSE:To allow the painting to a uniform film thickness between other parts and spacing parts by executing the spray painting while the spacings are held closed by masking materials from a rear side in the method for subjecting the material which is to be coated and has the spacings communicating with the rear side of the painted surface to the spray painting. CONSTITUTION:The spacing 3 between the front line of a front door 2 of a body 1 of an automobile and the aperture edge of the door of the body 1, the spacing 5 between the rear edge of the front door 2 and the front line of the rear door 4, and the spacing 6 between the rear edge of the rear door 4 and the aperture edge of the door of the body 1 are respectively closed by masking paper 7 from the rear side. The film thicknesses of the spacing parts and the other parts are uniformly obtd. when the outside plates of the body 1 are subjected to the spray painting in this sate by water paints. The painting of the spacing parts and the other parts to the same film thickness is thus possible and the generation of unequal colors is obviated. In addition, the easy operation is possible as the operation involves the mere closing of the spacings with the masking materials from the rear side.

Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 (産業上の利用分野) 本発明は、主として自動車車体の塗装方法に関する。[Detailed description of the invention] (Industrial application field) The present invention mainly relates to a method of painting an automobile body.

従来、自動車車体はボンネットやトランクリッド、ドア
等を組付けた状態でスプレー塗装するようにしている(

In this case, there are gaps in the car body around the bonnet, trunk lid, doors, etc., and when the spray air passes through these gaps, the flow speed increases, and this flow pulls the paint, making it difficult for it to adhere. As shown in FIG. 5, the thickness of the film tends to be thinner in the gap area than in the other parts, and color unevenness may occur in metallic coating.

This tendency for the film thickness to become thinner is more noticeable when applying water-based paints than oil-based paints. This is because oil-based paints evaporate a large amount of solvent during application and increase viscosity, but water-based paints lose water. This is because water-based paints have a lower viscosity when applied than oil-based paints because they hardly evaporate, and the film thickness when applied is also thicker than oil-based paints.

(Means for Solving the Problems) In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a method for spray painting a painted object having a gap on the back side of the painted surface, in which the gap is closed from the back side with a masking material. I decided to spray paint it.

(Function) Since the gap is closed, spray air cannot pass through, and therefore paint is no longer drawn in by the air flow.

With the gaps (3), (5), and (6) of the car body (1) closed with masking paper (7), the outer panel of the car body (1) was spray-painted with water-based paint, as shown in Figure 4. As a result, the same film thickness was obtained between the gap portion and the other portions.

Note that the gaps around the periphery of the bonnet and trunk lid may also be closed from the back side with a masking material and spray-painted, and it is also possible to use tape, cardboard rubber, etc. in addition to masking paper as the masking material.

(Effects of the Invention) As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible to coat the gap portion of the painted surface with the same film thickness as that of the other portion, and there is no color unevenness.
Moreover, since the gap is simply closed off from the back side with the masking material, the work can be easily performed.
