この発明は塗装マスキング方法に関するもので
ある。DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a coating masking method.
一般に吹付け塗装には、被塗物、例えば自動車
の外板に塗液を吹付けて外板全面を一色に塗布す
る場合と、外板表面をツートンにあるいはストラ
イプ状に色分け塗装する場合とがあり、この色分
け塗装において仕上がりの美しい塗装を行なうた
めには、塗液の吹付け前に外板を塗装する部分と
塗装しない部分とに分ける作業、いわゆるマスキ
ングを行なう必要がある。そしてこのマスキング
の方法としては、まずマスキングシートを固着し
たテープを外板に貼付ける方法が考えられるが、
この方法では、大きなマスキングシートが邪魔に
なつてそのテープを貼付ける作業が煩雑になり、
しかもその作業中にマスキングシートが既に塗装
の完了した他の塗装面をこすつて傷つけたり、又
そのため該他の塗装面の光沢を損なつたりすると

を示し、この方法では、まず外板１の既に塗装が
完了した下地面にマスキングシート２を配置し、
次に外板１に裏面全面に接着剤３ａが塗布された
テープ３を貼付けて、マスキングシート２を固定
するとともに、テープ３の一方の側縁３ｂを塗装
見切りのための見切り線とし、このようにして外
板１の下地面の一部１ａをマスキングした後、吹
付けノズル４によつて外板１の下地面の塗装すべ

く、美しい塗膜の見切り線を形成できるようにし
た塗装マスキング方法を提供することを目的とし

を非常に容易にかつ美しく形成できる。さらに第
２のテープ７とマスキングシート２とは塗膜８の
焼付け乾燥後に簡単にはがすことができるので、
そのはがしたマスキングシート２が塗膜８を傷つ
けたりすることはほとんどなく、その結果外板１
の塗装面１ａ，８を大変美しく仕上げることがで
