Vibration from the cylinder block is transmitted to the oil pan attached to the bottom of the engine, which has the disadvantage of generating noise. Measures have been proposed. This is a system in which a slit is formed in a flat part of a wall of an oil pan or the like, and the slit is filled with an elastic member to prevent vibrations from being transmitted by the slit and to absorb vibrations by the filling material. If the sole purpose is to reduce noise, the above structure is sufficient, but when servicing the engine, the engine may be removed and placed on the floor, in which case the oil pan will bear the load of the engine. Therefore, especially when the above-mentioned slits are formed in the side wall, the oil pan lacks rigidity, so there is a risk that the oil pan will be damaged.

This invention was made to solve these conventional drawbacks, and provides an oil pan structure that has sufficient noise reduction function and is rigid enough to withstand the engine load. . That is, the present invention provides a noise reduction structure for an engine oil pan in which a plurality of slits are formed in the side wall of an oil pan attached to the lower surface of the engine, and the slits are filled with an elastic member. A bead is provided in between that extends from the mounting surface of the oil pan to the bottom wall.

Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. In FIGS. 1 to 3, an oil pan 1 is attached to the lower surface of an engine 30 with a flange 2 on its upper edge serving as a mounting surface, and a side wall 3 and a bottom wall 4.
The oil pan 1 is formed by integral sheet metal processing. A plurality of slits 5 are formed at predetermined intervals in the side wall 3 at positions close to the flange 2, and the slits 5 are filled with a filler (elastic member) 6 made of an elastic material such as rubber to form a seal. . The filler 6 is formed to be larger than the slit 5 on both the inner and outer sides of the slit 5, thereby sandwiching the periphery of the slit 5. The outer surface of the filler 6 may be coated with a fluororesin or the like to improve weather resistance.

A bead 7 is formed in the side wall 3 between the slits 5, and this bead 7 extends from the mounting surface to the bottom wall 4. In addition, beads 8 continuous to these are connected to the bottom wall 4.
Although it is formed in the bottom wall 4, it is not necessarily necessary to provide it in the bottom wall 4. Although the beads 7 and 8 are shown projecting inward in the illustrated example, they may also project outward. In addition, the shape of the bead 7 is not limited to the one shown in the illustration, and can be modified in various ways. It is sufficient if it continues until

In the above structure, transmission of vibrations from the engine cylinder block is blocked by the slit 5 and absorbed by the filler 6, so that the noise reduction function is satisfactorily achieved. Further, when the load of the engine 30 is applied from above, the side wall 3 exhibits sufficient rigidity because it is reinforced by the beads 7.

As explained above, the present invention aims to improve the rigidity with a simple structure in the structure of an oil pan equipped with a noise reduction function, and can reliably prevent damage due to the weight of the engine.
