Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a smooth finished surface by humidifying the edge surface of a ground member with water immediately before grinding. CONSTITUTION:The edge surface 1'a of a tile 1' is press-attached on the sponge 4a of a rotary panel 4 supported on a rotary shaft 4b, and since the sponge 4a always contain a sufficient quantity of water by the water which is always supplied at a constant speed from a water supply device 5, the region consisting of the edge surface 1'a and the peripheral part, i.e., the edge surface part 1'A is humidified by the water by the press contact with the sponge 4a, and the tile 1' is sent to a rotary grindstone 3, and the edge surface 1'a is ground by the rotary grindstone 3. Accordingly, if the edge surface part 1'A of the tile 1' which is sent toward the rotary grindstone 3 is humidified by water immediately before grinding, the edge surface 1'a of the tile 1' is smoothly grinding- finished, and the drastic temperature rise due to frictional heat is suppressed, and the abrasion of the rotary grindstone 3 reduces, and further the splashing of the grinding chips is suppressed.

Conventionally, when grinding the end surfaces of various materials to be ground such as ceramic products such as tiles or building materials, as shown in FIG. 4 of the attached drawings, a cart 2 movable in the direction of arrow A is moved in the direction of arrow A. Then, the end surface 1a of the material 1 to be ground, which is fixed to the cart 2, is ground by pressing it against the rotary grindstone 3, and the shavings produced by this grinding are sucked up by a dust collector.

By the way, in the conventional grinding method as described above, the grinding surface of the material to be ground is generally not finished smoothly and becomes rough, the rotating grindstone is severely worn out due to significant heat generation, and grinding debris that cannot be absorbed by the dust collector is thrown up. There was a problem that the work environment was worsened.

As a result of various studies in view of these problems, the inventor of the present invention has discovered that in the above-mentioned grinding method, the end face of the material to be ground, which is sent toward the rotary grindstone, is moistened with water immediately before grinding. ,
It was discovered that this grinding of the end face of the material to be ground not only gives a smooth finish, but also suppresses the significant temperature rise due to frictional heat, reducing the wear and tear of the rotary grindstone, and also suppresses the flying up of grinding debris.

The present invention was invented based on the above knowledge, and is used in a processing method for grinding the end face of a material to be ground, to smooth the finished surface, reduce wear on the rotary grindstone, and prevent flying up of grinding debris. In a processing method in which the end face of the workpiece is ground by the rotary whetstone by sending the workpiece towards the rotary whetstone, the end face of the workpiece is soaked with water immediately before the grinding. The present invention relates to the above-mentioned grinding method, which is characterized by moistening.

The water that moistens the end surface of the material to be ground prevents the "chipping" that tends to occur on the end surface during grinding, resulting in a smooth finish on the ground end surface, and when this water evaporates, a large amount of water is removed from the grinding wheel. Since the latent heat is taken away, the temperature rise of the grinding wheel is suppressed to a low level, reducing the wear and tear of the grinding wheel.Furthermore, since the end face is in a wet state, the grinding debris generated by grinding becomes wet and heavy, suppressing the flying up of dust. be done.
