Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a lightweight bumper with good cushioning ability by partioning a space surrounded by an upper plate part, a lower plate part, and a vertical wall part by partition walls to form a beam, mounting the beam to a cross-member of a car body, and covering the beam with a fascia. CONSTITUTION:A beam 9 which is oblong and has the length corresponding to the length of a bumper 1 as a whole, is formed of resin and composed of an upper plate part 10 whose size corresponds to the width of a car body, a lower plate part 11 parallel to the upper plate part 10, a vertical wall part 13 connecting the rear ends of the upper plate part 10 and lower plate part 11 to form a bead 12 laterally, and partition walls 14 projecting forward from the vertical wall part 13 at intervals and partitioning a space surrounded by the upper plate part 10, lower plate part 11, and vertical wall part 13 into plural chambers. The beam 9 is mounted through a mounting bracket 5 at the vertical wall part 13 to a cross-member 6 of the car body. Further, the front part of the beam 9 is covered with a fascia. A light-weight bumper 1 with good cushioning ability can thus be obtained.

A conventional bumper 1 will be explained with reference to FIG. In this figure, a foamed material 3 and a beam 4 made of iron or synthetic resin are arranged inside a fascia 2 that forms a bumper 1 of an automobile, and the beam 4 is attached via a mounting bracket 5. It is fixed to the crossmen halo of the car body. In addition, the one shown in FIG. 6 has only a beam 4 made of synthetic resin disposed inside the fascia 2, and like the one in FIG. 5, the beam 4 is attached to the vehicle body via a mounting bracket 5. It is fixed to the cross member 6. The beam 4 made of synthetic resin shown in FIG. 6 plays the role of two members: the foam material 3 shown in FIG. 4 and the beam 4 made of iron or synthetic resin. In the figure, 7 is an engine hood.

In addition, the one shown in Fig. t56 has only the beam 4 made of synthetic resin assembled on the fascia 2, and although light grinding can be achieved, the deformation grinding is large, especially in the front and back directions. There are problems such as it is easy to use and does not require high performance as a bumper. Furthermore, if the vehicle collides with an object such as a wall 8, the receiving part of the bracket 5 will be pushed and deformed (see the solid line in Figure 7), and the back of the beam 4 will have a lateral direction as shown by the arrow. There is also a problem with the generation of tensile forces.

(Means for Solving the Problems) The present invention has been made in view of this point, and as a means therefor, an upper plate portion 1 whose dimensions correspond to the width of the vehicle body is provided.
0, a lower plate part 11 parallel to the upper plate part 10, a vertical wall part 13 connecting these, the rear end of the plate part lO and the lower plate part 11, and having a bead 12 in the horizontal direction; The upper plate part 10 and the lower plate part 1 protrude forward from the wall part 13 with a space therebetween.
1 and a partition wall 14 that partitions the space surrounded by the vertical wall part 13 into a plurality of parts, a horizontally elongated beam 9 having a length corresponding to the length of the bumper as a whole is molded from resin, and the resin beam 9 is The resin beam 9 is attached to a cross member 6 of a vehicle body via a mounting bracket 5 at the vertical wall portion 13, and the front portion of the resin beam 9 is covered with a fascia 2.

(Function) When the car to which this MII-made damper l is attached collides with a wall 8 or the like, the impact load acts to compress the beam 9 via the fascia 2. Since the beam 9 has a bead 12 formed on its rear vertical wall portion 13, the collision load can be absorbed by expanding this portion. Further, the tensile force in the lateral direction generated on the back surface of the beam 9 can also be prevented by the bead I2. Therefore, the impact load transmitted to the vehicle body side can be significantly reduced.

(Embodiment) Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 3, with the same reference numerals being given to the same members as in FIGS. 5 and 6.0 Automobile according to the present invention As shown in Fig. 6, the damper l basically has a structure in which only a beam 4 made of synthetic resin is placed inside the fascia 2 (see Fig. 3). ), that is, the automobile bumper 1 of the present invention is formed by disposing a resin beam 9 made of a plate material or the like inside the fascia 2.

Next, the resin beam 9 will be explained in detail. The resin beam 9 includes an upper plate portion IO whose dimensions correspond to the width of the vehicle body, and a lower plate portion 11 parallel to the upper plate portion IO. A partition wall 14 that partitions the space into a plurality of parts is connected to the space part 13 and further surrounded by the upper plate part 10, the lower plate part 11, and the vertical wall part 13, and faces forward from the vertical wall part 13. It is made to protrude, is horizontally long, and has a length that corresponds to the length of the hamper as a whole. Then, the front part of the beam 9 formed in this way is covered with the fascia 2, and it is attached to the cross member 6 of the vehicle body via the mounting bracket 5 provided on the rear side of the vertical wall part 13 (see Figs. 3 and 4). (see), the resin beam 9 is usually obtained by integrally molding the entire resin beam, but it can also be manufactured by joining a number of cylindrical bodies.

A car with a bumper l constructed in this way is attached to a wall 8.
When colliding with an object such as, the impact load is Facial 2
, the impact load acts to compress the beam 9 via the fascia 2 . On the front side of the beam 9, a plurality of partition walls 14 protrude forward from the rear vertical wall 13, so that the partition walls 14 increase the rigidity and become resistant to deformation in the front-rear direction, that is, crushing deformation. , the bumper l will not be significantly deformed.Furthermore, since the bead 12 is formed on the rear vertical wall portion 13 of the beam 9, this portion will expand to absorb the collision load. . Further, the tensile force in the lateral direction generated on the back surface of the beam 4 is blocked by the bead formed on the vertical wall portion 13. Therefore, it is possible to obtain a bumper 1 that is resistant to deformation in the longitudinal direction and lateral direction, and that significantly reduces the impact load transmitted to the vehicle body.

(Effects of the Invention) The present invention connects an upper plate portion whose dimensions correspond to the width of the vehicle body, a lower plate portion parallel to the upper plate portion, and the rear ends of these upper plate portions and the lower plate portion, A vertical wall portion provided with a bead in the horizontal direction, and a space portion protruding forward from the vertical wall portion with a space therebetween and partitioned into a plurality of spaces surrounded by the upper plate portion, the lower plate portion, and the vertical wall portion. A horizontally elongated beam having a length corresponding to the length of the bumper as a whole is molded from resin by the partition wall, and the resin beam is attached to a cross member of the vehicle body via a mounting bracket at the vertical wall portion. By covering the front part of the resin beam with a fascia, the weight of the damper can be reduced, while also avoiding the weak points that conventionally had due to its light weight, namely longitudinal and lateral deformation, which are transmitted to the vehicle body. It can be formed into a bumpy shape that significantly reduces the impact load. Furthermore, since the beam disposed inside the fascia is relatively easy to shape, it also has the effect of improving productivity.
