継手部材の噛合部分の一側に充填材を被着し、該
充填材表面を覆うように継手部材に対し防食カバ
ーをねじ部材により取り付けるとともに該防食カ
バー下端に弾性体からなる栓を取り付け、該ねじ
部材を締付けることにより前記充填材を前記噛合
部分の一側に密着させたところにある。

体1の他側にほぼ全長にわたり溶接等により取り
付けられたT型鋼からなる他方の継手部材であ
る。いずれの継手部材も防食被覆が通常どおりに
施されていることはいうまでもない。5は充填材
で、継手部材3,4の海側部分に波の影響を被る
4m程度の範囲にわたり被着するものである。そ
の材料としては、厚みが管体の被覆に比べ大きく
とれるので、モルタル、エポキシ樹脂あるいはペ
トロラタムのような防食材を幅広く選定して用い
ることができる。6は充填材5の外側を覆う防食
カバーでFRP、PE等の耐候性のすぐれた合成樹
脂あるいは耐食金属等で作られる。そして防食カ
バー6の下端には、第3図に示すように充填材の
流出防止のために比較的変形しやすい弾性体から
なる継手の形状にそつた栓6′接着してある。な
お、栓6′は防食カバー6とは別に最初にハンマ
ー等で打ち込んでおくことも可能である。7は止
水パツキン、8は防食カバー6を介して充填材5
を継手部材3,4の噛合部分と管体1の防食被覆
層2とに加圧密着させるための締付ボルトで、L
型鋼の継手部材3に明けたねじ穴9に螺合するよ
うになつている。ボルト材としての金属はたとえ
耐食性があつても、管体との接触で電池を形成す
るので好ましくなく、そのため前記締付ボルト8
の材料としてFRP等の強度の大きな合成樹脂を
採用することが好ましい。
